Breaking Light Bearers Ending

A buddy of mine and I decided to try the Light Bearers ending. Our first couple of attempts failed, as we couldn't keep the events from overwhelming us.

But then we had a series of fortunate events (or really, EVENT) happen to us:

A couple of rounds into the game we drew the Lunar Event Guiding Light , which lets you move any number of spaces up to your die roll. We both managed to get to the Temple via the Tavern, and we both had riding horses. On top of that, we had the Prayer Book, which lets you add up to +3 when praying.

So using our Riding Horses, we just kept bouncing back and forth between the Castle (no drawn cards) and the Temple. After we prayed we dropped the Prayer Book so that the other person could use it. Once one of us had enough craft to head into the inner region (we had picked up a Talisman, too), he went in and won the game. The day timer never even cycled once.

It seemed like a pretty cheap way of doing it, and yet we managed to outsmart the ending by creating a circumstance where we could simultaneously build up our characters while also not drawing any events. Granted, it was rather boring doing the same thing every turn, but it got the job done.
