Glad I already finished whatever I wanted RPG wise. Now Conquest is a different matter... so much stuff still to get and they are not producing anything anymore, no reprints announced on FFG's upcoming page. Already ordered Fury of Dracula and Forbidden Stars.

This explains why there wasn't any 40k RPG stuff at FFG's booth at Gencon.
As much as I'd like to hope GW will license the property to another company to make a great game, they have a history selling it off to the lowest bidder. I think it'll be a good long while before we see anything worthwhile in the IP.

Don't know what Gencon you went to, but I picked up all the DH2 books I didn't have at the booth.
This sucks.
No other way to put it.

I doubt that WG will produce another 40K rpg system themselves, after their stated disappointment at the low profit margin on the original 'Black Industries' Dark Heresy rulebook- despite it being a run-away best seller. I could be wrong- GW has recently reversed their policy that 'skirmish' games aren't worthwhile, releasing multiple skirmish games this year. Still, I think it's more likely that they will license it out. In any event, it will probably be at least a couple of years before a new 40K rpg hits the market.
On the up-side, we've been spared watching DH2 ruined by runaway Power Creep like later DH1 ...

Yeah, I was looking at my DH1 books, and thinking about it. Anything after Ascension is basically just fluff for me. I'd never let players mess around in there save the character creation options (planets and background stuff not alternate careers).
Well, one positive note: Conquest just had a release yesterday so the license isn't dead yet!
I had asked DrivethruRPG on Twitter what had happened, DrivethruRPG replied saying the FFG had deactivated all WHFRP and WH40KRPG pdfs on their site.
Never got a third class book for Only War (wanted to write more tanks!). Never got to see Genestealer Cults added to Dark Heresy and Deathwatch. Never got to see the new Deathwatch stuff added to Deathwatch.
What a waste...

Yes, quite a pity. I'm guessing it's up to the community now.
Valkyrie stats for example, every book seemed to omit those.
Seriously! The eponymous aircraft of the Guard, one of the most easily spotted! Used by tons of people! No stats?!? That was ludicrous!
There is a single entry on a Valkyrie in the Rogue Trader adventure Citadel of Skulls, though that is the only stat-line I have seen for it within the 40k license.

It's release is next week and is the last announced product for conquest. Nothing coming down the road which is the norm for any continuing lcg.
Just a short question. Does anyone know where one can find a 40k RPG community if these forums would go down?
I'd suspect a chunk might move to the 40krpg subreddit.
Or we'll move on to the forum of whomever grabs the licence. If the next company decides to build their own system or rework the d100 system I know I'll be signing up for any beta testing. I just hope that the next system is a single core rulebook for the 40K universe with separate books for specific themes and scenarios and only have the additional rules needed. Having about one third of the same rules reiterated across five different core rulebooks was a bit absurd.
Not to mention bad for crossovers.
Either way, let's hope that this is not the end.
On a minor note, I've been working on a library application for the 40k RPGs. It's written in Java, with a friendly user interface to add/remove/modify items, allowing it to easily look up information. Everything gets stored in a mini database and is logically linked together so it can form the basis of other applications made. This is my secret hobby project. I hope it will help the community at some point in the future to keep the game alive longer.

Point me to Only War's aircraft rules.

I guess it would have been added in the book for Only War that never came to be.
Who knows, if GW does take the license back, maybe we'll finally see Toughness Bonus as skin armour disappear and replaced by the Inquisitor system.
As long as we don't also get rolling to hit on a D100 for every single shot in a fully-automatic burst! Inquisitor is a good system but had more than enough problems itself.....
Not optimistic news - I found this discussion on Dakkadakka:
The one interesting/hopeful note is that Inquisitor is explicitely namechecked in that list...

This is like Tyrion not getting word from Baelish in Asoiaf when he goes to find the Tyrells. "It can mean nothing, or everything."

Aye. The "automatic healing" is also something I'd do away with. My personal dream would be a hybrid combining the best of Inquisitor and Black Industries'/FFG's works.

I wouldn't say it's "not optimistic", but rather that it's bad and good news. *IF* true, it'd explain why the PDFs were taken down and no new products have been announced -- but I would also be very interested in someone picking up a license for and taking a shot at Inquisitor, Necromunda, and/or BFG...
The rumour could either be based on, or confirm what has been announced some time ago already:
