Kor turns his gaze to Soryn and Tess,"Soryn your not wearing much armor either, you got lucky and didn't get a bad hit, she fought with us till she determined it was unsafe for her to stay." He gives a small glance at Tess "You like to chastise me a lot but you seem to forget that discretion is the better part of valor, I've seen my fair share of fights this was a tough one for all of us especially if your not armored." Kor turns back to Dera and watches her as she works on Shad.

Turning on her, his mouth a thin line, Soryn retorts, "Merely separated? Was scurrying out the door and closing it behind you something the creatures suggested you do?! The galaxy is at war, Tessrah. We are keepers of the peace, not soldiers, but we have to know how to fight regardless. If your battlefield does not involve combat, go and work on diplomatic relations; better yet, go and broker a peace treaty between The Republic and the Separatists. Either way, tell us when you're about to do something that could get one of us killed. And I would be glad for your Master to attend us, no doubt they would have a lot to say about your behavior."
And then, as Kor speaks, the Pau'ans eyes lock with his. "Luck? You think luck has anything to do with it? Do you believe in The Force or not? Once again, the leaving was not the issue; it was the lack of communication. Imagine if the creature she had been fighting attacked your back after she had left? You were too busy stopping the other one from clawing your stomach out. And armor? Do you think you'll always be wearing your armor when something happens? Do not blame the tools, Kor, or lack of. We must always be prepared."
Dera nearly glares at Kor before she catches herself. It's still almost snappish when she says, "I hope you're not saying that you think we're better than other people." Then she gets a hold of herself again and sighs. "But I should not speak in frustration. My apologies for that, though the point still stands."
She takes a deep breath. "Thank you, Soryn." She closes her eyes, trying to focus on Shad's presence—but she's still far too frustrated to concentrate. She opens them again. "I—cannot focus. I'll have to do this the usual way. Does anyone have a medkit?"
"Sewing seeds of distrust grow twisted crops soryn." she sat to meditate. "I closed that door so I couldn't be followed and killed by the beast soryn...I'll be sure to die like a good jedi the next time if it pleases you."
Kor clears his throat in response to Dera "I mean no such thing simply that our gift, the ability to use the force is special. We should be proud that we can manipulate the living force to bring Peace and Justice across the galaxy. Everyone in this galaxy is special in their own way and ours is the ability to use the force." Turning to face both Tess and Soryn again "Enough with the fighting we have a job to do don't we, it's unbecoming of us to be so divided, Soryn stop judging how she handled the combat. Tess don't egg him on we need to be united, I may not be a leader but if the clones could see us now would they be proud? Proud to call us capable leaders? I think not."
Edited by ShlambateDera pinches the bridge of her nose. "My fellow Padawans, could we perhaps refrain from tearing each other's throats out? Yes, it's possible Tessrah acted out of fear. But that is no excuse for our hostility. My own included." She stands up, shaking her head. "We may only be Padawans, but we are still Jedi, and we are still in a war zone. Act like it."
Tessrah nodded "he admonished me to start but I agree there is no need to start pointing fingers and issuing accusations. I would prefer this room not to be filled with petty hatreds. Does anyone have a stimulus pack I could really use one for my pain."
Kor nods in agreement "Dera is right we should calm ourselves and think clearly there will certainly be trials ahead." Looking back at Soryn "When you go around the Outer Rim hunting criminals with your Master, a savant at crafting armor through the force you always bring your armor and your always prepared. But let us get back to being a team we will work better together than apart." Walking to Tess he hands a Stimpack over.
"Spoken like someone who perhaps should have looked more into joining the Agri-Corps, Tessrah. And the whole point of my 'lecture' is about not dying. We are too valuable a resource in these times to be throwing our lives, or the lives of our fellows away."
At Kor and Deras words, Soryn pauses. "You are right, it is unbecoming. I will focus on the task at hand; which I believe is to report in with Base Command and see exactly what it is we should be doing in such a tumultuous situation."
Tessrah pressed the stim pack to her wound with relief. (recovered all wounds) with soryns comment she looked calmly at soryn. "I'm sorry that you have such anger in your heart for me Soryn. I apologize for any slight I have issued to you." Tessrah pulled her knees to her chest and buried her head under her arms.
"Mhm," Soryn grunts, before walking off towards the cockpit to check on the pilots and remaining crew. He replays the battle with the winged creatures in his mind, picking out the key elements of where he failed and going over them again and again, determined to not make the same mistakes should he ever face the same type of foe. Footwork - fine until tripped. Bladework - sloppy. Evasion - Acceptable, though inconclusive. His grim demeanor sours even further as he reflects on his ineptitude, compounded by his anger getting the better of him. Trying to remember what his Master always used to tell him in moments like these only irritated him further; she wasn't here, and he only had the other Padawans to rely on and confide in; and who among them was worth trusting yet?
As the ship settled onto the landing pad, a Duros in Republic uniform with Commander tabs was waiting. Across the tarmac, you see a mix of Aethersprite intercepters, Ywing Assault Bombers and ARC170s being frantically retrofitted- an entire ARC heavy laser was being hoisted into position on one ship.
"Commanders, glad you could make it. General Kota's complements, and he wishes to see you right away."
"Well then let's get going then duty calls." Kor walks off the gangplank "So what is the situation with the Separatist attack Commander?"
"Commander." Dera inclines her head. She can't help but be relieved that they're no longer on their own, but that relief is nearly knocked out of her when she notices Tessrah's state. "Excuse me," she says. "I need to check on—on the others." Her voice quavers just a bit at the last, and she grits her teeth. No time to be nervous.
She turns to Tessrah and places a hand on the other woman's shoulder. "Tessrah. We need to move." She fights down frustration—they don't have time for this, they don't have time for this—and doesn't shake her. However much she might like to. "There are people counting on us. Unless this is a medical emergency, we can deal with whatever's wrong later."
Edited by The Shy IonTessrah looked up at Dera and stood up however seemed somewhat reluctant. "I know... I know" she hooked her Saber to her waist and went outside to hear what was going on.
"Good to see you two made it," Soryn says to the pilots as he reaches the cockpit. "Sorry I can't dally, but here's my comm; do call if you are keen to catch up, or offer another ride to a stranded Jedi..." He pats them on the back and trots down to join the rest, trying to shake the mood of irritation. The fighters catch his eye as he moves across the tarmac, beautiful craft one and all; however he is no ace, and knows they are not for him. Following at the back of the group, he keeps his ears and eyes open.
"Well then let's get going then duty calls." Kor walks off the gangplank "So what is the situation with the Separatist attack Commander?"
The Duros waited for the other jedi to assemble. "Commander Quirno, base XO. The Seppies are coming down near the canyon to drop troops, but we dont know how many. The sepratist frigates have a modular payload, and we had to bring up the shield before we got a good scan. Without that data, General Kota and I have been reduced to making educated guesses. We may have to send out a scouting team, even though we havent got the training weapons replaced on the skimmers yet."
Kor responds scratching his Chin "So would it be safe to assume the General wants us to join the scouts to ensure we get that data?"
"Are any of you trained yet in skimmer operation? I wouldnt want to send you out unprepared."
"We're ready to assist in any capacity necessary, Commander," Dera says firmly. "Training weapons or no training weapons. Is that where General Kota wants us?"
"Not much of a pilot myself, I tend to crash. Dera,Tess are either of you good at driving? Kor says as he shrugs and scratches the back of his head.
"I can drive, though I wouldn't say I'm trained," Dera admits. "If there is something else, that might indeed be better. My abilities lie mostly in the realm of enhancing others, and that's hard to do from the back of a skimmer."
Tessrah standing off to the side half paying attention with her arms crossed turns her head to the others. "I can fly but I would say it is unskilled natural ability than actual training. (3 agility) But others have doubted my competence as a jedi so I will defer to your best judgment."
Kor walks over to Tess and puts a hand on her shoulder "Tess we don't doubt your ability." Whispering into her montral "Soryn just had a bad time in that fight and took out his anger on you. Very Un-Jedilike for someone who prides themselves on memorizing fhe Jedi code. Besides I think your simply amazing."
