2 Sisters of Battle Looking for a play by post Game

By Servant of Dante, in Dark Heresy Play By Mail/Email

Sitting here with my bucket of Popcorn waiting to see how it goes

Glad to see someone is watching . . . I'm pretty excited too.

The God-Emperor of Mankind's Chosen Scalpel watches all [my favorite DH1 is Al the Moritat Reaper]

Ariel, there are 3 armsmen, nice distraction so if you need to take them out you should have advantage

It's more of a lack of understanding. She doesn't get that disrobing in front of a bunch of grown men would be inappropriate. Her actions are innocent, though that may seem strange (feel free to chime in, Lynata, if you want to explain this).

Yep, that's exactly what I was going for.

I'm gonna take every opportunity I can get to show how broken Schola graduates can be! ;)

Dangit, looks like "Daddy" is going for a compromise! I was half-hoping for the troopers to just wave us by now. :D

Well I had a virus (or something) messing with my browser and I reached "F it" and started a full system wipe. And reinstalation of windows 10 (I did grab the files I wanted, though I just realized I lost my 56 hours on Morrowind *shrug*)

If it gets things back to normal it's worth it.

I'll try and get a post in from mobile maybe. I kinda feel like not doing electronics right now. I might go read a book.

So, how we doing?

So, how we doing?

I should get a post in within the hour. Sorry for taking so long.

On the bright side, the Exterminatus on my computer worked :P

Nothing like a tech purge.

Yeah, but I imagine it could get expensive in the grimdark. You have to either pay a tech priest to burn incense and intone the cants or do it yourself, but for that you need a vox coder implant and a properly annointed incense burner (neither of which come cheap, Is imagine) and even then good luck finding a tech priest willing to teach a layman the proper binary cants.

In the Grim Darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only EA Tech Support.

On a more serious note, did they really just take our knives, not the actual guns?

"Thank you for calling EA tech support, praise be to the Omnisiah, how may I assist you today?" :D

And yeah, it looks like we get to keep our guns (well, they still have Ariel's shotgun, but Estelia's not handing her pistols over :P )

well, they still have Ariel's shotgun

Didn't see it get locked up though.

GM, please clarify! ;)

GM, please clarify! ;)

They respect a person's right to use a weapon, they just lock up stuff with a penetration factor. They'd have confiscated the ammo if you had slugs, but you only have shells. No Pen no Problem.

Laspistols set to Overload have a Pen of 2 . . .

You should've brought a Warp Cannon, Lia. 3d10 E, Pen 0. :P

I forgot about that, then yeah they take any ammunition out if it. Can't overcharge what isn't there.

You can say they have taken all of her spare charge packs, but the weapons are still loaded

Hold up! I have made it incredibly clear in my posts the Estelia has not let her pistols leave her hands. They most certainly have not taken the charge packs out (and she is not going to take kindly to their trying).

That's fair, they weren't set on overcharge at the moment so they probably weren't overly concerned. Admittedly I don't know what an overcharge setting looks like on a pistol, I'd assume it's a dial switch or something.

To be completely honest I'd kinda been assuming that Estelia would keep the pistols on the highest setting. Either way I'd think the control would be a switch of some sort that you can get at with your thumb while holding the gun, so it's not super likely that the armsmen would notice it anyway.

Charge settings, for those weapons that have them, could probably take all sorts of forms. I've seen sliders , but could well imagine dials as well. One of those details that both depends on individual interpretation, as well as sensibly existing in different versions across different weapon patterns. :)

On a sidenote and reminder, Ariel has a laspistol as well, holstered in the belt that was handled by the armsmen.

For what it's worth, I don't think the charge setting should affect the soldiers' opinion much, as it is not an innate property of the weapon. A laser is a laser, and the characters in the game will not interpret our guns based on detailed numerical stats in some rulebook.

And now I'm pondering whether "keep it on max" should be a Sororitas regulation, perhaps directly opposed to a hypothetical "keep it on min" regulation for Guardsmen ...

Seems like it'd be a waste of ammunition to have it on max all the time.

For the Guard, yeah. I would expect Sisters to be somewhat less dependent on logistics as they typically shouldn't be out in the field in some trench for days on end. After all, decrease in reliance is what made las weapons rather than SP guns the Guard's weapon of choice in the first place. In short, SoB could afford the waste, whereas Guardsmen may not.

... unless your name is Estelia, who has chosen to go all Seraphim-wannabe, dual wielding las pistols as primary weapons at a time you're completely detached from conventional supply chains. :P

"Wait, power settings? They have lower power settings?! Why, in the Emperor's name, would they have lower power settings!?"

-Estelia Dolan

I feel like she thought it was just the "On" switch.

I really don't want to reply yet since the last one was very contingent on your reply to the situational prompt.

There may be only varying degrees of guilt, but the degrees do vary (filthy radical). :P *primes flamer*
