Why do the cards have the same icons as the corresponding dice? Not sure I see the point unless it's that you can play the game if you don't have the dice.

I think just so you can see all the different options that that card's die is capable of rolling at a glance. Same with Dice Masters, etc. Otherwise, you'd have to constantly be grabbing up dice to see the options both when deck-building and in the middle of games.

Makes sense, thanks!

Seems like Awakenings is going to cover ALOT of material. Makes me wonder how many expansions there will be.

They'll probably take the route that WOTC Star Wars Minis went with and have new versions of the same characters with different subtitles and abilities.
Every Star Wars card game has had multiple versions of main characters and even supporting characters.

Right now the LCG has Rebel Pilot Luke, Hoth Pilot Luke, Luke, Commando Luke, and how Throne Room Duel Luke.

Also Hoodie Han, Pilot Han, Han Han, General Han, and bow Buddy Cop Han.

Worst idea ever, those challenge decks. Not thier general eventual existence but putting them out right after the first cycle was a waste.

But yes also Super Saiyan Luke

Don't forget that you can reroll dice by discarding a card from your hand. If you rolled a die and got a 1-melee-damage result, you might consider rerolling, but you want to make sure that this character has a 2-melee-damage as an option before you reroll, to make sure it's worth it to try. Without the reference on the card, you'd have to pick up the die as mentioned above and that could be problematic because people could start fibbing about what face was originally showing if, after examining the die, you decide not to reroll.

This is how it works in dice masters as well.

Seeing the 6 side options lets you quickly look at the card and weigh your options on whether or not a re-roll is worthwhile.

Well i gues i should post all my findings here and not across multiple threads.

So far i identified 5 different rarity colors.

grey, yellow, blue, green, purple

greys appear to be for fixed starter cards

yellows/blues should be common/uncommon. no idea what order

greens are rare

purples are legendary

you can see these colors in the background of the set number part of the card.

the highest set number that is visible in the trailer is 174. name of the card is not readable but it is a location.

all location that got their rarity color indicator shown are grey so they might all be fixed starter cards.

cards that got a corresponding dice are either purple, green or grey.

the highest set numer that is either green or purple that was shown in the video is 66

items/vehicles/abilities seem to have only 1 die corresponding to them

characters got either 1 or 2. you can see that by looking at the point value for each cards. if they have two point values they got 2 dice if there is only one then it only got 1 die.

there will be at least 8 legendary cards. 4 hero cards and 4 villain cards are already known.

fun fact: the cards for 5 starters can pe printed on one sheet. thats why there are 24 cards in the starter.

Cool observations. I've found the same thing with rarities (it's the color by the set number not the color of the card like some other posters thought you meant).

Interestingly there's a few cards in the trailer that are green without a die, but it seems based on the distribution each rare/legendary should have a die with it.

For the card color types I haven't figured them all out yet.

Blue is clearly force users, all the force supports and enhancements can only attach to blue units.

I have yet to determine what red and yellow are though.

Another note: Some locations have at least a blue rarity. See Imperial Armory Death Star from this page https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/star-wars-destiny-showcase/

I'm asuming red: is military: stortroopers, rebels, etc. and yellow is smuglers/scum.

I thought that too, but then I saw things like a Yellow "Diplomatic Immunity" which feels like it'd fall under the red umbrella, and Finn who also doesn't feel like a scum/smuggler but is yellow.

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough I hope they explain the thematic reasoning behind colors and don't just leave it behind as some game mechanic.

Well Fin isn't a (official) rebel and he isn't a force user (and before you mention it,he deserted from the storm troopers so he can't be in red either.) so only place to go is yellow. And diplomatic imunities seems more of a bluff tactic than pure combat anyway.

And Solo, Jango and Jabba are all yellow. No way yellow isn't scum/smugglers.

I agree I think it is.

I just think those too cards have odd art. Yes Finn deserted the FO but he certainly isn't a smuggler or spy, maybe a "scoundrels and compulsive liar" can be added to the yellow team?

I agree with Diplomatic Immunity, it's a bluff tactic, but it comes from being a diplomat or part of the rebellion. I can argue away it's yellowness because the scene depicted is Leia being detained for literally smuggling to stolen death star plans but it just feels a bit shoe-horned into yellow, when it would have mad sense in the red group with the likes of Ackbar and Leia.

The groupings are :

Force (blue)
Command (red)
Rogue (yellow)

This is stated in the news article, though not with the specific association's, but it then links cards from each group.

Thanks for pointing that out. I must have missed that.

Another thing i noticed is that support Characters and vehicles that you can draw from your deck got their dice indicators at the top right.

Starting Characters (?) as well as charater enhancing abilities or items got their dice indicator on the bottom left.

That does indicate that support characters can not use items or abilities.

Possibly it's Rogue, not Rouge...

Possibly it's Rogue, not Rouge...

Fair enough since I'm a horrible typist.

Wanted to compile some info into something that was a little more slice and dice-able. Took a lot of the info from here and dug a little further into the articles and such:

Let me know if there's some mistakes. I'll let some folks in if they want to help keep it up to date. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more info once the demos start rolling in later this week.

Popsicle Han (aka Hansicle)

When looking at the rules for deck construction i was wondering how many battlefields do you think they will release in the initial set? You only need 1 for a deck so there might not be that many.

the lowest battlefield card i could make out was 168 and the highest was 174. They appear to be the last cards in the set so how much higher do you think this will go?

170 is Salvage Yard. There are not that many letters left after S.

I just noticed that the video shows Salvage Yard at 174 while the article shows it at 170. Appears we should take the video with a huge grain of salt.
