Couple newbie questions

By huud007, in Road to Legend

Will be starting my first campaign using the app tonight. I had a couple questions that I couldn't find on the forums:

1: When running Kindred Fire, if the players lose a quest, do they restart that quest again, or does the campaign continue with the Overlord App getting some kind of bonus from now on?

2. With the regular game, people could ignore doing a campaign and just pick quests to run. Has there been mention of opening up the side quests to just do a one-shot?

Thanks for the help, I'm excited to try this out!

1. The campaign continues. The penalty is the less gold and fame you receive from that quest. Winning and losing modifies the campaign too, changing the quests you can get. The only quest you can go again after losing is the finale.

2. No. But as you say, you can start a new campaig like the Rise of all goblins and go for the side quests, or simple skip one with the surrender option.

It is also possible to do this with Kindred Fire

Just surrender during any quest you don't feel like doing.

The Rise of all Goblins is a nice way to just play a side quest or two. It starts you off with 3 XP and bunch of gold. It's almost like playing advanced level epic play from the base rules. The one thing they could add which would be nice is the ability to chose from all the available side quests for Rise of all Goblins.

Perhaps after the app is out, and they've done a few campaigns...they'll let you choose to play the side quests. We did prison break tonight and just got three prisoners out. We were really chomping at the bit to do that one again. It was very thematic.

even if you do not actually choose your quest, the side quests are randomized so that generally you do not come up withe same ones. I suppose if you do not like the ones that came up you can sart the campaign again.
