Had this happen today - She's awake, and when the doom track advances, I'm to spawn a monster on her space. However, the monster I spawned was an Elder Thing, which says to spawn it in Antarctica. Which takes precedence? I'm guessing Shub had more pull as the GOO, but the rules seem to favor the "When spawned..." icon on the monster token.

Any thoughts?

It goes to Antarctica. Those spawn icons kick in regardless of where you are spawning it.

Thanks for the quick response. I went with the other option and ended up losing just barely...makes me wonder if I didn't have to kill the Elder thing, just might have done it!

There's no precedence as there's no conflict.

Shub spawns the Elder Thing on her space. Then the Elder Thing moves to Antarctica.

Take note that Elder Thing's ability isn't "This monster must spawn in Antarctica", it's "When this monster is spawned (wherever it was) move it to Antarctica."
