I wanted to contribute to a thread stating that I have some thoughts about this RPG.

Has anyone ever tried Chessex's battlemat to doodle and create their own maps and environments? I am planning on purchasing one to start my first OW session(s) or campaign with several players in the local area where I live. Here comes another thought that I'd ask other GMs about...

Have you guys ever thought about coordinate maps where you would give to someone who plays either as Commissar or Sergeant? The coordinate maps would be given to them for the following reasons:

1) To call in artillery for fire and effect support

2) To coordinate with other squads about their current/recent/last known positions)

3) To mark and track last known/recent/positive enemy positions

4) To gauge high/low ground advantages, foliage, fauna, etc.

5) For armored vehicle characters, to gauge movement, azimuth, and firing of shells at targeted grids

I wanted to find some coordinate maps but I am not so sure where I can find one. I might buy a very small battlemat that can be easily doodled on, a copy of the larger one and hand it to someone (who's either Commissar or Sergeant) to keep track of it.

For now, this is all I have at this moment.
