This play mat looks like a nice edition to the game.

Sure you can make your own. I've seen a dozen online.

Still, it's nice to have a basic one available from the publisher.

But I'm not seeing it in local stores or on Amazon.

It is available in the FFG store, but the cheapest shipping option is over $16 - 50% of the cost of the item!

Not worth the price of admission.

It's only just been announced. Give it time to hit retail distribution channels.

About as much as any custom mat, I love it though, glad I got it.

Alliance is suggesting an MSRP of $57.00

The price trough distribution, with shipping to the retailer included, is almost half again the cost of buying direct from FFG and paying their shipping charge. I doubt many retailers will stock something that costs them more, before markup, than the customer van pay by going directly to the manufacture.

I will get mine directly along with enough other product to make shipping reasonable.
