Kimogila, it's really fugly out of the box. Again, the Hutt scheme absolutely not doing the model a favour. I like it's aggressive lines, they speak raw brutality. I however disliked a bit the front part. Also, why having such a large roof over the cockpit without any apparent function? So taking to the scalpel and some putty/fimo:

Just a random pic of the M12L, one of my G1As and a (so far unmodded) Scurrg. Pirates trying to stop an Imperial attack on their base (playing with my children).

xSfA91Pl.jpg

Another random pic. Fun scenario for children, but also to train own movement and one's own and enemy firing arcs. All the Tie cardboard inlays scattered randomly about are defense satellites. The one with most destroyed satellites wins.

Satellite: PS 8, 3 red dice, 0 green dice, 3 Hull, 0 shields. No movement. Actions: Focus or Rotate 90deg. Attacking the nearest target, rotating toward the locking ship, if someone target locks the respective satellite.

Allow attacking each other according to taste.

After playing we came to the conclusion that the satellites should get at least 1 green, or more hull. Maybe also more attack power.

Mining Guild TIEs finally continued. Not sure yet if I dare to try improve futher, always the risk destroying what you have achieved so far.

Can you get a close up shot of the ARC & HWK please? Those colors intrigue me.

The HWK is my bird of prey, inclusive WW1 style fin writing. It's on the first page of the thread :)

The Arc170 is one of two I own. It's still a WIP, going for a really ff*-ed-up look. Bleached out paints, exchanged panels etc.

It's unfinished, because I am not really content with how it turned out. Guns & astromech e.g. totally untreated so far. The other white panels are however with intent, as they were to get nose & wing arts. Still totally undecided if I am going to strip it, or continue (it has been on the backburner now fo about half a year....).

The other one is in the works, hopefully leading to a better result, learning from that one.

Arc number 1 is almost clear, decided to keep the look above. Pics for that one to follow.

2nd Arc170 is finished. Slightly less f*'d up look than the other one. Still weathered, and tried sponge technique, going however, for a "little bit better maintained appearance" than the hunk of junk above.

Bath in the wingspan glory :)

Cool!

Do you have a specific pilot in mind for each paint job on the ARCs?

I've been flying Norra lately and I think she deserves her own custom painted ARC. I just have to figure out what that would bee.

Paint her like a Y-Wing!

The hunk'o'junk is intended for the lower PS boys, the wasp one for the lovely ladies with the high PS.

I also painted the astro on the purple one slightly as R3-A2, but only implied, not really true to original. As then one can imagine other astros as well. On the wasp one, the astro implies towards targeting astromech, but also rather loose.

I'd love to buy 2 more Arcs, to have one for each pilot, also e.g. paint up one with R2D2, one with e.g. flight assist.

For Braylen in his mostly stress role, I imagine red, something along this:

ZjcXQz6m.png

And the last one, either some kind of blue, or military green, maybe camo. However, Thane and Shara are not that good, would be seldomly flown.

So far I could not convince myself to invest even more in the game. But maybe when I see Arcs on offer....you know mistakes have been made before :)

far too many actually!

Funnily enough, that's exactly what I did for my Braylen repaint!

I hope the ARC goes on sale in your area soon - I'd love to see what that scheme looks like when a skilled painter does it! Your yellow ARC is truly inspiring.

So, the first Arc170 - as written above i finally decided to keep the paint scheme. Not really eager to do the hassle of stripping, priming again,....

Anyway, a real frustbucket, having participated in a lot of heat. Desperately needing not only some new paintshop, but also more spare parts.

I have no airbrush for the engines, so paintbrush had to do.

Something different, a "comission" :)

One of my children owns an Auzituck, wanted it to be repainted in a personal style, child decided on flame-pattern on a green-green background:

As our FLGS is selling out 1st edition very cheap now, I finally got me one of these and performed some "surgery" work:

Cannon tip needs to be sanded down a bit, to correct for FFG's mold line on it.

Not sure yet how to paint that one.

Also still waiting for 2nd ed, and if the E-wing is fun there (discussions pointing towards it still being overcosted), but I am surely flying it at least at home with the children.

Another project, first base paint, guess what that is going to be :)

One of the kids bought a YT2400.

I made it a rotating "bowtie"-firing-arc:

HmWlpXh.jpg

Unfortunately no work-in-progress-pics.

But I carefully twisted the cannons off, drilled a hole straight through the hull.

I put a wooden axle in, glued the cannons on again, 180deg offset of each other - voila, rotating indicator.

WIP, "commission" for one of the children.

Just a random war story. Playing at home these times.

The G4R paintjob is here

Playing at home with 2 of the kids:

Miranda (with Proton Bombs and Concussions)(painted and owned by one of the children) and Sabine in the TIE taking on a Shuttle together with 2 mercenaries, Sunny Bounder and G4R-GOR. Empire was steered by the 2nd Edition HotAC AI (but no fleeing for the Shuttle, if fought to the death), Sai escorted by Wampa and 3 Academies.

G4R was acting decoy and actually managed to get the Shuttle turn into the asteroid road, where first Sunny blocked and then he could block. Sai being 2 rounds actionless was critical. Wampa made a "mistake" trying to get Miranda (whose model is turned wrong on the ball magnet in this picture). Sabine had been going round and punched the Shuttle hard into the side.

oMy4MQv.jpg

This round Sai died from direct hit, because one of the Academies fired on G4R :)

Still, Sabine did go down next round (asteroid cover was not helping her treacherous green dice).

In the end all Academie caddies died, Miranda had lost only shields, the 2 Scyks were quite damaged.

Reducing the backlog, finalising old unfinished projects, and taking pictures of finished stuff.

Made alternative "asteroids" for ground attack scenarios (Inspiration sources both Rogue One and old StarWars Battlefront trailer), quite a while ago. Finally got around to take pics in these isolation times. Artist cardboard as base, and for the ruined building, acrylic modelling paste for the ground.

Exact size as some of the rock ones. In play you put them just over the FFG asteroids, if a model stops on an asteroid, remove the 3D desert model, so the spaceship stands flat on the 2D asteroid.

Micro Machines models (slightly out of scale, but still acceptable). I magnetised their feet, so I can have them positioned on the scenery (small metal sheets under the modelled ground, so the AT-ST and AT-AT stay put), or put them on bases as combat units.
