I wrote this last month. Otherwise, I'd suggest Google: I know there are blog posts, YouTube videos, etc. out there.
Edited by Vorpal SwordSO there are a lot of explanations here- https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/126226-index-of-useful-links/
Take some time and read through these, there is A TON of info there you may find useful
The main gist if the total amount of both you and your opponents opening move is less than 11 (adding in base size 1 for small 2 for big) you cannot possibly be in range to shoot.
Edit: Also, that Vorpal guy is good at words.

This is my go to video.
It's math. Now when your kids ask what it's useful for, you can explain it in terms of Sloops and Kturns.
I always wonder what happened to him. He just stopped suddenly putting out content. I really enjoyed his videos. If I need a refresher on something, his was my go-to video series.

I totally agree. I've only been playing two months, but I watched this whole series the first week and it really helped me understand the intricacies of the game.
Kind of obsolete these days when swarm and generics are rare, back in the day was very useful but it's all acewing now so joust tactics are a bit outdated.

I'd say it's even more important today, knowing the exact range limitations of Deadeyeing Torp Boats on the break.
It may be outdated to some, but I will say it was the most important thing in my head for my first real match of Xwing. I was able to get to an advantageous attack position against two strong turret ships.

He's just been really busy. He put out a board game last year (King's Forge) which just came out with an expansion, and has been developing another game called 10-Minute Heist. Plus, he works as a teacher and musician, and has been maintaining his video series for the game "Go."
He still plays from time to time. I recall him mentioning that he wants to put out some new videos that relate to some of the newer scenarios we've seen in the game.

Exactly this. I produced a write-up of one approach to dealing with torpedo carrying Contracted Scouts using the Rule of 11 a few weeks ago.
