Paintings and such...not on velvet...and not of the king.
That white Interceptor really stands out. I bet that looks really good mixed among other ships while playing.
Yeah,of the interceptors this one is probably my favorite. Soontir fel is getting a downgrade
Well...not everyone gets to be a winner.and not every attempt to fancy up a model works when you try it.
I like the battle damaged ships people do so I took the plunge. I dont think I'll do any more though.its a pain to get right and I don't think I'm getting what want out of it.
Putting these on the back burner until I feel like being utterly frustrated again.
I think they look fine - less 'over-the-top' than some I've seen [including a vid-tutorial] - I also prefer the fact you've not tried to suggest a 'recently-melted' look using red/yellow paint combos - I know physics means nothing in SW, but I still prefer to think that damage would cool almost immediately
...for myself, I've gone for the idea that such damaged craft might have been abandoned if not easily recovered to their parent ship, and then picked up by scum operators...or their pilot decides he's had enough of being Imperial fodder and defects to scum - and then the ships get patched-up and used by their new owners...mainly so I can run an offensive scum Gozanti,
Superb !
what a fantastic collection of repaints and modification's.
well done Velvetelvis
This is the great thing about the Paint Forum returning, the opportunity to look and admire
yours and other's work.
All the best,
Barry.
couldnt agree more good sir. Its like a fun gallery at an art museum ...but for tiny spaceships.
I will never get sick of seeing everyones stuff . I have my morning coffee and I`m all set to nose around all the great repaints again right now.
Enjoy your Morning Coffee.......its nearly 2:30 in the afternoon here in the UK......must be time for afternoon Coffee

It would actually take a loooong time to cool compared to the same damage in-atmosphere. With nothing to transfer the heat to, it would cool entirely through black-body radiation.

Thanks for this...never really thought about it in detail, so just read a very good Wiki article about environment control in space...which took me to another that suggested that in Apollo 13, overheating might have become a problem rather than the cold if they hadn't had to power down to conserve battery !
...just so used to the idea of 'the cold of space' [where's the "embarrassed" smiley ???]

Don't spoil the illusion, the entire world is supposed to think we only drink Tea, which we queue up for.... in the rain.
I see a lot of monarch butterfly ones...i wanted something a little more... Hannibal Lechter.
You succeeded very well
Definitely.
(My SV is also painted as a non-Monarch butterfly, have just to get around to do the fnishing touches and take a pic and upload it.)
That's a wonderful scheme, very clever.
These are amazing! Everything, from the damaged TIEs, to the Deci, to the X-Wings, and ok i'll stop now.
I think i used all my likes (or just about) on this thread.
Seriously amazing translations of inspiration onto painted ships.
Those Hornet inspired Syke's Look Fantastic and very menacing in the Yellow and Black.
You really do pull off the Insect inspired paint jobs very well.
All the best,
Barry
