Scenario - The clash of the four Bounty Hunters

By Larky Bobble, in X-Wing

Hi people,

I'm fairly new to the game but I went a bit wild and got quite a few ships. I plan on demoing the game to people from work in a couple of weeks to see if I can get some interest going (I live in South America so most people haven't seen it yet).

I have enough for a 3x100 epic Imp/Rebels battle for 6 people but I also got the Bespin playmat and the four large base Bounty Hunter ships (with Scum Boba) and that's what I'd like your opinion on.

I've thought about a scenario where 4 people can play with one ship each on the Bespin mat to try to take the prize...

Each ship has the named pilot from the ESB (making them PS 6,7,8 and 9). I was thinking IG88-C would be the best Aggressor. Each ship will be built to exactly 50pts. Each ship will start in one of the four corners pointing at the center and I'm going to put a small rebel shuttle (phantom) in the center as the prize.

If a ship is within range one of the prize it is able to do a special "dock" maneuver if it is not stressed (instead of revealing its dial). It doesn't move forward but is instead moved to the prize by the shortest distance. It's agility is lowered to 1 and it cannot shoot or take actions. If the ship is capable of performing two complete turns docked (this one and the next) without being successfully shot by any other ships it will win. OR...

Before the game I will have four Jack cards with the four pilots names written on them. Each player will then take a card without revealing it. That is that player's hated enemy. If they are unlucky enough to draw their own name then they have no hated enemy. Anyway, if they are able to land the destroying blow on their hated enemy ship they will show their card and take the win without having the prize (who cares about prizes when you can kill a hated enemy).

I was thinking that each ship could place one asteroid before the game started, after hated enemies are drawn (allowing for bluffs etc) outside range 2 of any board edge or the prize (and range 1 of any other asteroid).

Obviously the last standing ship would get the win also.

What do you think?

Hey,

I had an idea that was kind of like this, but a little more involved. It's scale able based on the players. You would need at least one GM (but more when you start to add in targets) for the players.

Bounty Hunter Rodeo

The idea is that all the Bounty Hunters get together to try to see who is the best. It's not so much about blowing each other out of the sky, but more about killing the bounty. Of course, I want to encourage people to fire on each other!

I threw out a bunch of target builds at the end of the thread that can be used. Not sure on how many bounties per hunter, but you can mess around with it. I wouldn't think the Rebels would really be working together too much and concentrating fire. It's more about making it a challenge for the Bounty Hunters to get the most kills. So, the GM will have to play it not so competitive.

I've really wanted to do this mission for a long time, but I haven't had the chance. If you play it, I'd love to hear how it goes.
