Help A New Guy Build Some Lists

By WindShear34, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello internet, my buddies and I have been playing Armada for a while now and decided to get into X-Wing a couple weeks ago and really enjoy it, however I can't seem to find anything that really synergies very well like I can with Armada. So the question I bring to you helpful fellows is what are some good combos for this game? I have only purchased Rebel expansion and they include: 1 Force Awakens Core Set, 1 Rebel Aces, 1 X-Wing, 2 Y-Wings, 1 E-Wing, 2 A-Wings, and the Millennium Falcon. I haven't gotten the hang of squad building yet or found a very good squad building program/website yet either if there are any suggestions. Any feedback as far as what upgrades to use with what ships or ships/pilots that work well together is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the party!

Push the Limit a very good Elite Pilot Talent on anything with plenty of green maneuvers to clear the stress (A-Wings!). Engine upgrade is amazing on the Falcon (and other large based ships) but mostly not worth it on the smaller ships (Corran in the e-wing might be an exception).

Make sure you consider the generic pilots, not just the named ones. Quite often the named pilots die just as fast as the generics, because their abilities tend to only help on offense.

Make sure you use Chardaan Refit on the A-wings, unless you are taking a high pilot skill ace (probably Jake Farrell) in which case Proton Rockets might be worth it.

Good Luck!

There is a thread on the main page that has Useful Links. https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/126226-index-of-useful-links/

It includes links to various things, including some good beginning lists.

The wiki page lists all expansions with photos and details of cards, as well as listing what expansions they come with.

It is fairly common in casual settings to "try before you buy" and proxy upgrade cards. I have printed the card images and used them with friends to try them out, without having to purchase a new expansion set. Keep in mind that in a sanctioned tournament, you need to have the real cards, but this is a good way to learn.

Thanks for the help guys, USCGrand90 I will definitely have to look over a lot of those articles/videos.
