Newbie Question

By SpiffLA, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I had bought this game earlier this year and finally got around to setting it up! I played it two player and totally messed up the rules by only moving one player per turn and were quickly killed in less than 30 minutes. LOL. Then I figured out all investigators move each turn! Go figure. Anyway, my question is when you're in the Other Worlds and say you're on the left side of that Other World and you draw an Other World card and it doesn't correspond to the color of that world, then do you have to wait until the next turn to draw a card? I thought the next turn you can move to the right side of the other world?

So if the that isn't true and you keep drawing cards until you do get the appropriate color. I came across a card that says "The stars shine in your favor" and it says to draw cards until you get a card that matches your Other World colors.

So this is all confusing to me. Why have this card if you're going to draw until you get the appropriate color? And if it's a single card per draw then are you stuck on that area of the other world until you do get an encounter? Please clarify. Thanks!

You're supposed to ignore incorrect colors and continue drawing until you get the correct color. The encounter you're referring to was probably just being redundant.

The card you are referring to is "The Stars are Right" and it is a white card, not colored to match any gate color. The key here is the card says SHUFFLE the gate deck, then continue drawing until you get a card matching your gate colors. This card is so that from time to time the deck gets shuffled, and the cards can come up again during the game.

Are you playing a non-English printing of the game? Just curious, as the syntax reminds of some other folks from other countries who have posted here.
