Have you painted all your characters yet?

By kain7th, in Talisman

Man, I don't want to tell you. It was a lot.

It was like 800 or 900 bucks. I shipped them all together with the character cards and they did a great job matching them up. I had them paint the bases red for evil, green(?--can't remember) for good and gray I think for neutral. This was before the harbinger and the cataclysm so they did not get painted. I'm storing them in foam between games despite their varnish treatment, so they should be pretty for every game. If you want a game to be personalized and I do for Talisman, you gotta spend some serious cash. Probably could have gone cheaper overseas, but it would be near impossible to replace those minis if they were to disappear on the trip.

I want this game to be like an heirloom, so there you go.

Thanks, I figured it would be in that range. And I completely agree with you on the heirloom status, having played since 2ed (still have my complete 2ed set, though I never got minis for it). I'm contacting Blue Table. And that's a great idea on the color-coded bases!

Just finished my Cataclysm and am now finally up to date.

Some figures are moulded better than others with the worse one being in my opinion the Gladiator from the Dungeon expansion.

He looks like something you'd get in a Christmas cracker. Very poor.

With 2nd and 3rd edition also painted I'm now moving onto the recommended figures for the Black Industries edtion.
