Hastur is coming!

While details are lacking, seems like this is following the SR pattern of 1 new AO + 4 investigators + ....

New conditions include both a named item "Blight" and a new trait: Talent .

On average, about four weeks need to pass from initial announcement before the first preview.

I am so excited!! Sure, I was hoping for an expansion that just added more of what we already have - boosting all of the existing decks etc. but EH is my favourite game so this is still very good news.

The announcement article suggests that the existing encounter decks are getting bulked up with this expansion.

New conditions include both Blight s and Talent s.

"Blight" is not a new trait, but a specific condition's name - compare the font styles. I suppose Blight's either a new Bane or a new Illness condition.

From the low-res picture I have also deciphered a "Promise of Power" Condition. I suppose it's a new Deal .

You are correct - I should have said "new additions to the conditions include ..."

Regarding Talent, it may represent a new Boon condition. [Corrected - thanks GAThraawn and tsuma534]

I think you may still be confused about the italicization used: Blight is a new condition, probably Illness, or Bane, as mentioned. Talent is a new type of condition, like Boon and Exposure. Context makes it clear that Talents will be positive conditions, as Boons are, but they're different types.

I might speculate that Talents will have a more direct effect on specific Skills, but we'll see.

Just went back and reread the actual spoiled cards (as opposed to my hasty post - which is now being corrected) and now see the mistake (barring there being errors on those cards).

From the low-res picture I have also deciphered a "Promise of Power" Condition. I suppose it's a new Deal .

I have been pondering about this one, and I think it will be a reverse Dark Pact or a reverse Agreement (Just like Funding was a reverse Debt).
With Dark Pact it's " Hey have this cool Artifact, but maybe eventually you'll have to pay an exorbitant price for it. "
With Promise of Power it would be more like " Hey, thanks for what you did, we promise you that maybe eventually we'll give you something awesome. "

So, depending on the scale of the effect, I think it would flip on a roll of 1 or 1-2 at reckoning, and dispense a big reward on the back side.

Possible Reward Ideas:
1) Improve Lore twice. Gain an Incantation Spell, a Ritual Spell and a Glamour Spell.
2) Discard any number of Conditions, then restore full Stamina and Sanity, then gain a Blessed Condition.
3) Improve each of your Skills.
4) Solve the Active Mystery.
5) Reveal the top [Number of Investigators] cards from the Artifact deck and gain one of these Artifacts. Put the rest of the revealed cards on the bottom of the deck.

Great news!

Just received Forsaken Lore as last expansion and was thinking : "that's it, I'm settling down"

My guess in The Next Expansion thread was :

Posted 29 January 2016 - 02:16 PM

I guess next will be small box expansion and based on ... .

Lets see - we have Forsaken Lore (you learn) and Strange Remnants (you find), so next could be expansion focusing on mind effects or dimensional travel including Dreamlands (without sideboard).

Ha$&ur, being perhaps my favorite AO, i feel, is going to be fun to add a good amount of theme into. I really hope they do something similar to the 3 Acts in Arkham Horror. I can imagine taking all of the "Lost Carcosa" Other World Encounters, and removing them from the Other World Encounter Deck, then, when resolving AO specific events, such as the Mystery spoiled, using that separate Other World deck. Man, i don't know.. i am so excited for this, and i honestly can't wait to see more!

Also, i love Dexter Drake's kind of.. built in spell, which is basically to open a portal and shoot a monster through it. I imagine it being a great addition to a team with fighters, where he can easily manipulate the board with monsters. However, Drake himself seems to be another Spell-Fighter like Diana, so we'll have to see.

Love the thought of using location-specific otherworld encounters for an AO. Great idea.

It would be hilarious/awesome if they worked in references to the first season of True Detective in this expansion somehow.

Whilst I share your love for TD season one, I doubt very much this will happen. Would be cool though!!

Update here !

This is looking great.

it's listed as "Shipping to Stores!" i'm nerding out

What the...? Wait. What?!

Out of desperate hope mixed with disbelief, could you tell us where it says that?

Thanks Ricedwlit - I was looking all over the updates on the expansion itself (where it used to list their status).

I can't believe it's out so soon. Fantastic news. I did see this where it's listed as released on June 2nd and immediately thought that couldn't be the case, but maybe it is!

It seems unlikely that the game is released on June 2nd, but June 3rd-5th is the UK Board Game Expo so it's not entirely beyond the realms of possibility that FFG will want to have the game ready for that.

FFG said it will be available next week, and the 2nd is exactly a week away, so I wouldn't be surprised if they hit that date.

I can't remember if the expansions hit the shelves at the same date over here in the UK as they do in the US. I expect it might take a little longer, but I just don't know. Will be calling my local games store next week to find out.

And in all the excitement I missed this latest update here , previewing Hastur himself.

So only two mysteries to solve - they must be of similar difficulty to the Syzygy's, or maybe even harder. And with ten reckonings in his mythos deck it looks like the investigators' sanity is going to take a bit of a pounding. He's looking pretty bada**. Can't wait.

I just got lucky and found a copy on Ebay. Shipping from the UK. Seller had three copies, but is sold out now. With shipping it cost me 24 pounds. That is about what I payed for strange remnants/forsaken lore :)

Can't wait. Not sure if I have a camera that works good. Might do an unboxing video when it arrives by mail.
