2016 System Open Series Results

By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

There's the kind of lists I expect from the Europeans.

GURI!!!!

Every cut I see from the Spaniards is full of interesting things.

No info on the rest of the lists that made the cut. Also, I didn't had acces to final first day table so I can't precise the MoV for the second day. Used the total amount.

And RIP Rebels and Palp Aces.

Yes, but there are still 2 more to go.

Yes, but there are still 2 more to go.

Is this relevant though? Whisper didn't win that many tournaments back in the day, but the effect on the meta was huge nevertheless.

Whisper/Oicunn won Naboo today.

And what was the top 8 at Naboo ?

I know there was a brobots list, and a 5 A-Wing crack swarm (the crack swarm player dropped as he had a plane to catch - which ended up being cancelled!!)

Here are the full squad lists from the Top 8 at Naboo Open:

Among all of those interesting and really diverse squadrons, there is no single Rebel list in top8 of Yavin, Naboo and Tatooine and only one in Hoth and one in Endor iirc.

Scum and Imperial are in perfect place now (pls stop whining about jmk5k - they are balanced and perfect in every inch), but it seems that Rebels could use some buff :)

Pretty obvious you're trolling, but the designers are on record saying theyre 'probably undercosted' so there's that. Also it amazes me you fail to see the direct correlation between jm success and rebel failure since it's exactly those jumpmasters who push rebel squads out of the meta right now. Rebels have plenty of answers against Palp Aces, but very few against Jumpmasters. It's literally the most obvious meta read to make right now. Amazing.

I am not trolling, just express my feelings. This is obvious that JM5K are the reason the Meta is as it is. The point is that if 2 out of 3 legs are strong and equally matched, my solution is not to weaken one of those 2, but to buff the third one.

Btw, Rebels have won 3 Worlds in a row, so Meta shift is kinda nice, isn't it? :)

Only a correction, The 3º in Tatooine Open was a 97 points. I know because I played a similar list and I was 173..... . The list don't made the X-Wing-ner....

Good catch! I double checked now just in case I missed an upgrade there, but nope. Seems I just forgot to replace the number from the template I used.

You literally said 'they are balanced and perfect in every inch'. If that isnt trolling then i dont know what it is.

Also Palp Aces and Rebel Regen were pretty equally matched in w7, it's just that rebel regen gets oblitterated by jumpmasters. And right now the overwhelming majority of scum lists consist mostly of jumpmasters, so its not like they're even helping the scum faction as a whole. If your solution is to buff rebels the other scum lists will fall even further behind and the perpetual cycle of over-/underpowered will continue.

Hmmm... Rebels, contrary to the Empire, just lack good, balanced counters to the Jumpmasters. I don't see how giving them such counter would increase number of JMK5 on the tables :)

In general it should be a counter every faction can use. That would be ideal and healthy for the whole meta

Very impressed with Abel's flying in the semis and final at Tatooine. At a time when everyone and their grandmother is fussing about triple U-boats, he shows up with two and casually flies them around the map. Tel Trevura goes down first (and second) every time. He never displays any anxiety and just kills everyone with Dengar double tap, R5-P8 and feedback, gonking as necessary to regain shields.

It's a good thing that Jumpmasters shoved regen ships out of the game. One less obnoxious NPE based archetype to play against.

What, did you rebel players not get to play Poe enough during wave 7? A wave where there would be 14 players at an event, 6-7 of them would be flying rebels, and every single one of them had identical loadouts for Poe?

Did you not get to play Miranda enough? A turret ship that regenerates, can't get more rebel than that.

You rebel players absolutely deserve this. You guys complain about losing Poe in 2-3 torp blasts? Well that's what you get for getting 40 points of shield tokens out of a **** 4 point card every game last wave.

Conversely, stop saying that they are balanced as the results seem to point to the opposite being true.
