" A lot of palp mobiles at the top tables. Two imperial Aholes with inquis and one wth wampa (mine). A whole bunch of uboats at 4-2 and 5-1 but they had to creep into the top -- in the last round it was imperials all the way down the top tables. "

If anyone happens to know any lists, or next set of players that made 18 points, please share. I'll update post #2 later with details as they trickle in.

Just a note, although I'm not sure on this- Think Lyle meant Carnor there, not Wampa, as I think he swaps Carnor for the Inquisitor if I remember correctly, in his list. He does have Wampa, but I think the other lists do as well.

Yep, Carnor, mj edit when you a have a moment :-)

Stephen Michel (#2) and Nicholas Tobin (#3) are both running: Omni+Palp, Wampa, OL + Comm + Juke, Inquis + PTL + AT + Title.

With my Carnor version at #1, kind of a signal that what I said on the last S&V podcast ("One of the top 3 lists in the W7 meta") is holding up.

#7 (Phil) and #10 are both triple U boats; #14 (Piqsid) is an elite swarm (Howl, OL, Wampa, Backstabber, Mauler, and one other).

I'm curious if there is a single top 16 list with a pilot lower than PS 3. I feel like scouts have just absolutely scared them off the table completely as of late.

...don't the top 3 have a PS 2 shuttle...

Dang it! You know what I meant!

Actually all Palp shuttles are PS 2 - which is intersting to me, because it kind of prevents destroying a scout before the return fire. I was testing around using Yorr instead. But these results may indicate that the Palp Aces new wave may actually have the edge against Scout-Torpedoes. I was really skeptical about that. I guess Carnor may help too in that match-up.

I don;t really understand what you mean. I would think PS2 spam would work really well against the 3xScouts.

If anything, it's the Palp Aces of whatever variety keeping the generic spam lists away.

I would like to think you were right, but in my experience, PS 2 spam does not work well against Scouts... Erasing a ship or two before they fire is a back breaker. Now, it's even worse against Palp aces, so with both of those at top tables, I don't expect any non Palp toting PS 2 ships to be at top tables.

Interesting thing is that the new tournament rules go into effect tomorrow. Old rules for yesterday and today, new rules for tomorrow. This is a first I believe as I don't think there have been any other tournaments where the rules have changed part way through it.

New rules apply to the entire event. FFG announced this a bit ago.

Hmm..you can confirm this? I thought FFG stated that the new rules would be in effect for the entire System Open (even though it started on March 31).

My bad - hadn't seen where they announced anything. Guess they can do as they please for tournaments unlike the rest of us - lol.

Wonder why they didn't just date the rules for the 31st of March since they knew the open was starting then.

These top 8 jumpmaster lists look soo bad, are you sure they are complete ? ... 3 point for initiative instead of spending one for a powerhouse like 4-LOM, for example ? It's almost a re-usable crack shot against aces. Or if their flying skills are as lame as their list design skills (if there is no error in the list booking), I think we could haste toward a conclusion that aces are advantaged against torpedo scouts, and I think it's much more debatable than that. I suspect that we are going to see imperials win here because they were featuring better players.
