2016 System Open Series Results

That's really harsh words Fanfan, very judgemental. They made it this far, and the one with a huge initiative bid just took out an Carnor Aces list, it was amazing! The inclusion of a Ion token generator might of helped him or might have crippled him, it's really hard to say. I think the 3 Uboats will find change and morph as the Meta grows and Worlds comes on us, but for now, 3 at a 97 bid isn't all that bad at all.

The lists are now all correct. The triple JumpMaster list IS at 97 points and was confirmed on the stream and on NOVA Facebook pics. It's an initiative bid for the mirror match.

Live updates via Travis Cooper on FB:

(#3) David Yun vs (#6) Brad Miller

Both players still have whisper, but David also still has omega. 2 on 1

(#4) Nathan Eide vs (#5) Zach Bunn
Nathan has all his ships (soontir on 1 hull though) Zach has shuttle and vader
About 10 minutes left in the round.

Yuck. Only two lists in the top 8 weren't U-Boats or Palp-Aces.

I'm not a sky is falling kind of guy but that's just boring. Hopefully the Top 16 and 32 had a little more diversity.

Are the match-ups reseeded for top 4? Which would lead to scout v. scout and an empire match-up?

I think a fair amount of the 'lack of diversity' we are seeing is due to the timing of Wave 8 in relation to the date of this tournament.

If Wave 8 came out more than a few weeks before this event, I believe we'd see a more varied meta.

Via Travis Cooper: Zach's shuttle is gone, looking pretty good for nathan

What's that? No T-65s in sight? But Intergrated Astromech fixed them! How odd they appeared in literally no successful lists!

Via Travis Cooper:

Nathan won, David Yun lost whipser. So it's his omega vs Brad's Whisper. Nathan should be facing Ryan Fleming in top 4. There is still a possibilty of an all JumpMaster final

Brad wins on time

Zach conceded to Nathan with a few minutes to go, and outnumbered 3 to 1.

Onto the Top 4.

I don't think many (any?) ever claimed it was a complete fix. It was a "here is something, let's see where this puts them".

Honestly, they are comparable to B-Wings now, but B-wings also got pushed out of the meta by recent releases. And unfortunately, about the same time as we made x-wings similar to them.

Wait, so Drew Bishop lost at the top table last round and didn't make the cut? What about the guy Nathan decided to call a draw with? Did he make top 8? If so, Drew really should have tried to convince Sozin to call a draw that last round.

You need to hop around the 'T-65 needs more help' threads, there are still a few vocal reality-deniers out there.

The X-Wing is almost as good at the B-Wing at Jousting, however a B-Wing with FCS is miles ahead, and the rest of the System Upgrades let the B-Wing explore a number of more interesting roles than Jousting.

Still, hopefully the dire performance of the T-65 in a post-IA world will be enough to convince a few more of the 'T-65 is a good ship' crowd.

It's exactly the reason/situation I don't mind that the new draw rule is included.

Flemming looked really good in the live stream match. Hoping for another livestream!

Sad. I was really rooting for Zach. And to think that a couple of years ago he was taking a break from X-wing...

Nathan and Brad drew, guaranteeing they both got in.

Dom Cairo was next in line at 9th based on MoV over Brad. But yes if Drew had drew then he would have been in.

Some people aren't overflowing with class... What a shame.

Wait what?

A little self reflection?

Brad's omega is dead, one of the jumpmasters has 2 hull left

Wait what?

David Yun

  • 99 points
  • Whisper + VI + ACD + FCS + Agent Kallus
  • Omega Leader + Juke + Comm Relay
  • Omicron Group Pilot + Palpatine

This is 96 points. Missing Stealth Device on OL?

I hope Nathan can pull it out, the other guy seems a tad annoying.
