Gate stands

By EvilEven, in General Discussion

Hey, I just found this thread on BGG and was blown away.

Those are just so amazingly cool.

Inspired by this I sat down with my kids and made some gatestands of my own brilliant design...

Or so I thought.

The result was actually more like this in comparison: http://justsomething.co/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/hilarious-pinterest-fails-21.jpg

Well enough fun for today, here are the pictures:

These are awesome!!!

Thank you kind sir! :D First playtest tonight!

Edit:

Some of them are working, some send the gates spinning..

The purple tentacle works like a charm!

Congrats! What material did you use for the gate stands? They look so fuzzy and fluffy and cute. :) Also, the doom counter looks like something from an adventure game from my youth. Day of the Tentacle it was called if i recall correctly. Nice memories!

Yeah, the doom counter is inspired by Purple Tentacle - main antagonist in Maniac Mansion 2 "Day of the tentacle". It would have been easy to make it with a green base, and darker green inside the rings. I just made it from memory, and got the colours about right..

The type of clay I used is called FIMO. It is baked at 110 degrees C for about half an hour.

I bougth this set for my kids: http://www.staedtler.com/en/products/products-for-modelling-and-crafting/fimo-soft/fimo-soft-8023-material-pack/

Great job!!!

Hehe, I imagine I can do better - first improvement will be to use plastic gloves (or something like that) to eliminate fingerprints :D
