Two sources of one crackshot each

More expensive than TLT or thrusters, especially for the quantities needed

Yeah... I'm not gonna be able to get behind alt art Crack Shot based purely on the "necessity" of it for the very specific list of "six guys with Crack Shot". With Imperial Veterans, just buying one copy of each set it comes in will net you three of em', which is more than enough for 95% of possible lists that'll make any use out of Crack Shot. As it is, the Khiraxz is a solid, cheap ship with several awesome upgrades that fills a wonderful role in the Scum faction, so a number of players I'd wager are like myself and have little problem justifying having two of them. Just north of ten bucks can net you Glitterstim, Predator, Crack Shot, and Homing Missiles on top of the Scum's first option for "three attack dice filler fighter".

And Crack Shot is readily available, if currently a bit price-gougey (around $8), on the secondary market. When Imperial Veterans lands, there's going to be more copies of it floating over to Ebay and the price will almost certainly drop even more.

With all of that in mind, I just cant' see the justification based on the "rarity" or "necessity" of the card. There's literally nothing you can put Crack Shot on that is complete junk, competitive or otherwise, without Crack Shot. It is a great card, but it's not as critical to TIE Fighters as Autothrusters are to TIE Interceptors or C-3PO is to the Falcon. Having them en masse is critical to one very, very specific list. Saying we absolutely need six of em' each before we can even think about fielding TIE Fighters is silly. That's like saying you can't put Vader and Fel on the table unless you have Palpatine to back them up. Is Palp-aces a powerful, popular list? Absolutely. Is it the only viable option for flying Soontir Fel, Darth Vader, or even the freakin' Lambda? Hardly.

EDIT: However, in defense of alt art Crack Shot, the current art appears to be Hondo Ohnoka (or some other Weequay pirate scum!). Wouldn't complain about an obviously Imperial or Rebel version.

The C3PO card being available as an alt-art was more a response to the insane prices people were having to pay for a card that helped redefine an entire ship. At minimum, you spent the bones of $40 on eBay,

By handing out free copies of the card to those unable to buy it? Surely more socialist than crushing imperialism.

I second TIE/x1 or Autothrusters. Both are basically "balance fix" cards that, if this game were computer based, wouldn't exist because an update would have fixed the balance issues.

Although seeing the history of alt art cards given in tournaments, they don't seem to be at all these kind of "balance fix" cards save, perhaps, for Push the Limit.

Maybe they should start both. Or even better, just sell those balance fix in cheap "cards only" packs. Would improve the game for more or less everyone. And might actually increase sales of expansions with "broken" ships which need their balance fixes.

ALT art A-wings!

Give me an alt-art Wedge, or a Sensor Jammer. I want more Daredevils and Calculations.

I would really enjoy an alt art Engine Upgrade, Hull Upgrade, Extra Munitions, or Stealth Device. They have such utility among all the factions I would enjoy an alternate take on each.

It is time for an alt art Horton Salm.

Expect more cards that only have a single source... like the previously mentioned Tactician.

Tactician certainly makes sense. I would like four of those but will not buy a third and fourth phantom. Maybe sensor jammer?

I agree...if they did something like TLT as an alt art card at regionals...youll get one...maybe 2 if youre lucky.
