Storage Solution

By EvilEven, in General Discussion

Hello, I just wanted to give my two cents regarding storing Eldritch Horror w/all (and future) expansions.

Use modular storing boxes - they are infinitely expandable. They fit in a rack, and the individual boxes can be placed on your gaming table. The only thing I don't use these boxes for is the various boards, rules, character sheets and Ancient One sheets (these are kept in the main EH box).

Pros:

Setup time is minimal.

Everything (including monster "cups") is sorted and ready for play.

Boxes fit sleeved cards and tokens in all sizes.

Cons:

Boxes are expensive

Boxes are ugly, compared to "arty" alternatives (but I love em!).

You will probably need additional inserts to get the right amount of boxes in the right size.

This is the line I got - I'm sure there are other alternatives out there:

P.S. I wanted to upload some pics from my own setup - do I need to link to pictures stored somewhere else? I just couldn't find a way to upload images..

As of now, I use 5 individual cases with modular boxes. Thats for 10 Ancients = All expansions including Egypt.

Cheers! :)

It looks really cool and i just love how you sorted everything to be ready to play. Even the improvement and impairment tokens are sorted individually. Congrats! What was the total cost?

P.S. I have to ask.. Why so many dice?

The cost have been (excluding sleeves) about 100-120$, but paid in NOK (Norwegian Kroner). This is expensive, but those boxes are really high end, quality boxes.

Not to mention that everything in Norway is expensive as  :(  . The base game alone easily costs 73.88 USD

To be fair you have to add to that cost - the original inlays lack boxes of the same size, so I have been adding more of the most common sizes.

I have not used the dice yet, but during my last game I needed 11 dice for holy water attack.

The different colours on the dice is just to be able to distinguish between blessed (green),normal (pruple -. my supplier was out of blue..)dice, and cursed dice (red). Just an easy way to remember if a character is blessed / cursed or just rolling normal test rolls.

The main reason why I have been investing in this solution is to get component heavy games on the table more frequently. Expensive - but very functional and rewarding storage solution!

What is that setup time worth to you? :)

(Yeah I'm a dad - so setup time is a critical factor for me when it comes to gaming after the kids are put to bed)

Wow looks great! I understand set up and stow away time, especially with little ones in the house. Anyway great job on the organizers!

That should be an up to date link from Amazon. I bought my mine in four pack racks for about 700 NOK each at Clasohlson store. (Don“t know how international they are..).

The important thing to look for when buying is the modular boxes. They sell similar racks with fixed compartments..
