Noble Sacrifice?

By Spaceman91, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Fairly new to the game. I was teaching a friend how to play and he tried to use noble Sacrifice to kill Vader then put the focus on someone else. Can he kill Vader that way?

The card doesn't say sacrifice friendly force user so I couldn't argue it at the time but I'm interested if that works?

Costs can only be paid using game elements you control.

Whenever a card is worded "Do X to do Y," X is a cost.

Thus sacrificing a force user is a part of Noble Sacrifice's cost and can only be paid with force users controlled by the LS player.

Thank you. It did seem rather harsh to lose Vader and have someone focused down

dbmeboy is correct, but to add to that, sacrifice is a game action that means "the player must discard a unit he or she controls." There are cards such as Aggression and X-Wing Escort that can force your opponent to sacrifice a unit, but you never sacrifice a unit you do not control.
