Scum Top Gun?

By RogerWilco15, in X-Wing

The Imperial have Soontir/Vader, Rebels have Corran/Jake/Poe, but what are the names and builds scum pilots can regularly turn to?

Names?

We have DIGITS right now. Because Brobots.

Noname TLT Y-wings also can sometimes dish out Dakka

Kavil and Drea are cool, but are considerably more expensive, though not much more effective than noname TLT carrier in most cases.

Boba and Kath are cool, but unfortunately fly Firespray - iconic, cool-looking but never a competitive level ship.

Starviper might be cool, but a kitted-out it costs like Horn, while lacking his awesome PS awesome skill and awesome astromech slot for top-gun title. Ps5? Enough to eat TLT-lists, but that's all.

Talonbane Mc'Awesome Cobra has PS9, cool ability, but... He's riding a brick. with little to none slots for synergy to make up for that.

Bossk? Cool, yep, but imagine he's PS7 in a world of PS8+ and has 1 evade in a world of TLTs, so he's eaten alive.

But S&V has lots of FUN TO PLAY builds, and that's awesome!

Cloaking Device might help some of them.

But I really can't help but feel like Scum just overall... aren't quite a good as the other two factions. That's partly I guess due to lack of releases, but they're sorely lacking a couple of major archetypes, particularly the fat PWT, and the high-init arcdodger.

Although, I am really looking forward to trying VI Dengar and VI Talonbane. Not a huge amount of repositioning, but you can fit two well-tooled PS11s (though only one engine upgrade between them) and a Z95 blocker into 100 points.

Well they are pirates. There not going to have the funding of a Massive empire or a well funded Rebellion... They can be very nasty though.

Black sun and the hutts are probably better funded than the rebellion in IV, and V Probably not VI though. And based on what we saw in the movie definitely better funded then the resistance.

Yeah it is kind of silly that the winners from Episode 6 are now weaker than the losers from episode 7. You'd think people would learn by now don't trust those with Star destroyers, Red Lightsabers, and superweapons!

Blair ran an interesting list in the finals of the second season of the Team Covenant Aces series. I believe it was IG-88B, a TLT thug and two Binayres. So still a bot, but not the typical brobots.

Talonbane is half an ace... Just like Wedge! Xisor is a great ship that costs to much in a faction that cannot afford him period. I love him, have been successful in tournaments with him but, he is over priced he needs another shield or a point and a half off, evade action would comoletely change the ship.

I really love homing crack glitter (and chimps now) on Talonbane, he gets two rounds to do the work of 36 points and, he can make crazy things happen. Or go bust really hard. Once chimps hit he will be the go to PS 9 hammer. If ghost doesn't completely dominate the meta his PS missile will be quite reasonable.

I think we're gonna see Dengar fill the slot of the first true scum ace. High PS, pwt, barrel roll and being able to take a crew AND an astromech upgrade is excellent.

Ma-1 with title and tractor beam - 17pts of fun

3-attack gunline era ended before S&V appeared

PWT era ahs ended before S&V got their PWT

Acewing might end , and we still won't be having our own super-PS squad-solo-killer

Daym, FFG, Y U NO LOVE S&V?

My go-to guy, he slays:

I have a ton of fun, and competitive time, flying the following list

Talonbane Cobra (31)

-VI

-Glitterstim

Boba Fett (44)

-VI

-Tactician

-Glitterstim

N'dru Suhlak (24)

-Cluster Missiles

-Glitterstim

-VI

Total: 99

They may not be "true" aces in the Imperial sense, but combined they do a good job with high alpha damage, high PS, and decent health.

N'Dru really loves Lone Wolf and will want Guidance Chips when they come out, but he's a potentially VERY punchy 25 points with that setup; CHips/Stims/Wolf means he's pretty likely to get full mods on his 4-die Cluster Missiles. Painful, and only reliant on a single action, so doable in one round.

Winners from Episode 6 = Rebel Alliance

Losers from Episode 7 = Republic/Resistance

Aren't those both essentially the same side? If anything I'd think that the Rebel Alliance was stronger at the end of Episode 6 than the Republic/Resistance is at the end of Episode 7.

I'm finding that I like Crackshot + Homing Missiles much better but agree that Guidance Chips are going to be sexy on him.

I think Boba is a "Top Gun". He's Awesome.

I always go for no names. They do alright. I'm actually 5-1 with Talonbane along with thug tlt escort and a pirate; with some upgrades, of course.

Think the Resistance is like a private milita rather than a true military force. It's filled with retired veterans of the last war and has outdated equipment probably purchased as military surplus from the Republic for deniability.
