Unique asset cards

By DOT, in General Discussion

Hi to All

I'm assuming that Ally , Item & Character cards in a unique asset decks have identical text

on both sides is that they can be mixed in with 2- sided unique asset cards ?

Otherwise FFG would have to create artwork for the back of the card and create another deck?

Sorry if this has been covered before

Yes, you can mix them all in together and are supposed to do so. However, the item cards do NOT have identical text on the back (e.g. one Stone Calendar may have a different reckoning effect from another).

As an aside, as of Under the Pyramids, the unique assets deck has gotten to be rather big and I've actually taken to splitting it so that I can more quickly find the item / task / etc that I need. What has worked so far is all Allies and Characters in one deck; all tasks in one deck, and everything else in the remaining (so far this amounts to items, trinkets, etc). Now when I need to draw a random unique task or unique ally (or worse yet, a specific named unique ally) I have a much shorter stack to look through.

Unofrtuinately you need to have items, relics and Allies in together because of the Wooden Puppet which is a Relic as well as an Ally.

Since there are multiple Game effects which instruct you to pick up a Relic Unique Asset it might just be the Wooden Puppet.

From the game effects perspective you can split the decks like this.

Conditions: Deals (Debt,Dark Pact,Fundung,Agreement), Madnesses, Injuries, Banes(Curse,Haunted), Boons(Bless,Righteous), Exposures(Hypothermia), Restrictions(Detained,Lost in Time and Space), Pursuit (Hunted), Illness (Poisoned,Infection)

Unique Assets: Tasks, rest of them

Spells: none :( (since there is an effect which instructs you to Gain 1 Spell without any traits, you cannot split it)

Even though the wooden puppet is an an ally, I put it in with the relics. To date I've not seen a card that says to "Gain a Unique Ally Asset". Either the ally is named (e.g. Dog Sled, Antartica Guide) or you are asked to gain a "Unique Character Asset" which would exclude the wooden puppet since it doesn't have a character trait.

I see, i thought there was, we can do the same then too. Thanks.

If I am told to search for a rare unique asset, am I allowed to take, say, a rare weapon unique asset if that is the first card I find with the "rare" trait?

Yes.

I assume this is hypothetical, as there is no "rare" trait yet.

My bad! I meant "relic", not "rare".
