The Battle of Dupplin Moor

By biomage, in Battlelore

I was recently looking at the Dupplin Moor scenario from Scottish Wars. It shows two Dwarven spear units fighting with the English. Is that correct? I would have expected Goblinoid or Human spearman. Should this scenario be changed?

Did you read the battle's story?

Oh, so Edward Balliol was Dwarven. I didn't realize that all Scots were Dwarven. Then, what nationality are Goblins? Welsh? Irish?

Definitely Irish.

So Irish have had mountes archers? I thought that Goblins were more eastern mercenaries.

Yeah, me too. The whole curved blades and strange mounts always cried non-European to me.

I'm guessing that the Welsh or Irish will be represented by a Fae or Elven race...maybe. Then again, the Welsh already appear in adventures, if I'm not mistaken, and they appear to be human.

I think you're right. I remember reading somewhere that they were thought to have originated in a desert nation. I guess that would make them Moors.
