Talisman - what the future holds.

By TheMetal1, in Talisman

They are real, I have some myself. The thing about Roman coins is there's so many of them in very poor condition that they are not worth anything. (I got mine free) It's when you get well preserved ones that the value skyrockets.

Well I will take you boths word for it.. Now shall we talk about what the future holds for Talisman.

Yeah it doesn't matter to me really but they aren't fakes I would stake my life on it, apparently they are very common, and unless they are in superb condition they are pretty much worthless. I've found all kinds of wierd stuff online, did you know you can buy pieces of the dock from the original Friday the 13th for like $90 bucks and that they also say some wierd secretion from the tomb that houses the bones of the real Santa Claus as a healing oil? I bought the wood but havent been able to bring myself to buy the secretion lol.

yeah sure they are real :) , but your right it really doesn't matter. And thanks for the heads up on the other pointless items online which are completely off topic and have no real bearing on what we are discussing in this thread.

This is precisely why I don't like you. Just don't talk to or at me and I'll do the same thanks. And if you want to come here and ignorantly keep calling my stuff fake and someone else pipes up and tells you you're wrong, as is often the case, you wanna drop it all of a sudden. If you don't know what you're talking about just keep it to yourself, also you don't have to be rude to people, if people want to talk about sidetrack issues that naturally come up, you're not the forum polices.

I didnt say they are fake I said they where very possible to be fake, that implies i do not know for sure they are fake just very possible not absolutely fake!

Also i didn't (after sindrisses post) "wanna drop it all of a sudden" i did say you where right it really doesn't matter and because you are using them as tokens "who cares".

Also how is it often the case? Can you inform me of the other cases; where it was the case because im at a complete loss on this comment? Not to mention its very rude unless you have the evidance to back it up with.

Also about "keeping it to myself" why should I keep it to myself, my opinion is worth just as much as yours? I have the right to comment just the same as you do.

Also as for me being rude, you have been rude a many a time in the forum, so its very rich of you to say other posters are rude. And yes i can prove this statement.

But you are right im not the Forum police, but i am a forum poster and i am allowed to inform other posters to (within reason) stay on topic or even question why something is way off topic, i do not see that as being rude at all.

But all in all I'm very happy not talking to you so long as your not rude or abusive and you can at least try to say on topic.

Who cares if we stay on topic? The best discussions happen off topic. We had a discussion on a Netrunner forum about how playing against an Industrial Genomics is comparable to sitting on your testicles. I mean, nobody cares.

Forums are meant to have fun, and share our love of Talisman. Why should we be bound by rules?

Why should we be bound by rules?

Because the game is? Just kidding. I enjoy the forums and am often a person who goes off topic.

Of course, Talisman has softer rules than most games. :P

And the forum has rules as well themselves, that's why I said "within reason" and "If you could at least try to stay on topic" I think its totally fine if the discussion goes that way. At least "playing against an Industrial Genomics is comparable to sitting on your testicles" for Netrunner is funny and is about the game.

But its totally not allowed when someone just deliberately flames a issue through being rude and argumentative.

Anyway, back to the topic.

I highly doubt they support it further. 12 expansions is a lot, and my guess is a Designer Edition like what was done with Small World when DoW killed that game.

I will be pissed if they don't at least make a deep realms type expansion bridging woodland and Highlands

Yep, I can see FFG updating the highlands and the dungeon to a cataclysm feel if they do indeed continue. If not I can see fellow talisman gamers pulling their resources and making some sweet homebrews. That would be fun.

Home brews are not a suitable substitute for official content.

I think we can all agree that home brews are not as good as official content, that really is a given. But if we are not going to get any more official content then its better than nothing, hench my point "If not I can see fellow talisman gamers".

Anyway no-one will be forcing any other player to use any home brews so I see little problem with them. Some of us have made some crackers for sure, better I think if we pool our resources. Of course this all come down to "IF" FFG have finished with Talisman.

Too true. A lot of the time they can be a hell of a lot better.

Home brews are not a suitable substitute for official content.

They don't have to be, they are not official.

Looks like I stand corrected :) .

Homebrews aren't as good, unless you set up some sort of way to print them on proper paper and in color like Ian did with Lotr: First Age.

With a lot of tweaking I think I've achieved as close as possible to stock cards for things like the Mephisto and DE characters and the Ice Queen (the only homebrew thing I use and I consider it semi official since New made it), so much so that you cannot tell by looking at the card backs, you can only tell by holding booth, mine are slightly lighter. Even so, no offense to home brew content, I just don't like it, back in the day I went nuts with it for 2nd edition, and it seems to dilute the fun and make the game feel much less like Talisman and more like some sort of knock off game. Just my feelings on it.
