Sith Artifacts in Force and Destiny?

By boykingkilla, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Alright, so I was curious about how Sith Artifacts would work and be statted in Force and Destiny. I know that the Staff of Markar Ragnos would be simple. it's a Quarterstaff with normal damage, but when using an advantage if rolled, it can give fire damage.

But I'm curious on other Sith Artifacts and if my thoughts on the Staff of Markar Ragnos would work in a Force and Destiny game.

I think the Sith Shield in Keepers of the Peace is a good starting point for ideas on Sith related weapons and artifacts.

It depends on the relic. For instance, the Muur talisman would just be a Macguffin with no stat profile.

Creating items with permanent force enchantments hasn't been fleshed out in the rules yet. We know they exist, a few have been stat'd. So for the moment, work with your GM and be very creative!

The sith shield requires you commit force dice to activate its special powers. Kinda neat as it means you just need an FR to make it work, no powers required.

Makes a solid mechanical base. Take mundane item X, commit Y dice, gain quality or effect Z....

This is an interesting direction... I've ordered my copy (but slow down here in Australia) so while waiting can someone tell me the effect of committing force dice to the sith shield? All I know is it's a melee item.

The shield grants a ranged hate Force attack when you uncommit those dice. It's a pretty nifty sheild and is an amazing weapon for an NPC.

It's actually one of my favorite weapons.

He's not exaggerating. It is literally a weapon of weaponized hate. Every time the wielder gets attacked, he can commit a Force die, with a max of his Force rating. Then he can uncommit, gain conflict equal to committed dice, and spend Force points to inflict 1 wound and strain.

Nice... So a bit of fun pushing them to the dark side. Can it be used to reflect like the shield gauntlet? I have a character in an EoE campaign so wielding lightsabers everywhere could draw the wrong attention ;)

It can't be used with the Reflect talent, but it does have Cortosis.

I also like the Cryo whip, have a few concepts for it already

I created a quick weapon for my upcoming campaign. Nothing special but the PCs will have to interact with it at some point. And, it requires a Lore Check to ascertain the "true" special abilities of it. Or they can use it see what it does.... MWAHAHAHA

Ancient Sith Dagger (When wielded, it fills the user with hate)

Melee, Damage = +1, Crit = 3, Engaged

Disorient 1, Vicious 1, Pierce 1

Special Ability = Dark Side Corruption = If not a Dark Side user, the dagger causes the 2 strain to the user and generates an automatic Threat on all combat rolls.

That's a cool idea, making it in effect at cursed weapon from a standard RPG. I will definitely steal that and probably add a dark side special ability that gives a positive effect to the user.

Just out of curiosity. I always hear about Sith artifacts. Are there ever Light Side artifacts?

Not many that I can recall. However there is a slight difference here, Sith artifacts were typically created using Sith Sorcery and Sith Alchemy and they never developed a light side/Jedi counterpart.

I actually made a Jedi artifact too, lol. Actually, its just a shard of the Healing Crystals of Fire the PCs can get as a possible reward.

Can be used to bring an Incapacitated character back to the fight. When used it will revive any character that is at or below Wound Threshold and heals them for half of their WT. Can only be used 3 times before the shard's power fades.

It should say "any character that is above its Wound Threshold". If you are at or below your Threshold, you are not incapacitated.

We go the other way with WT and ST.

There are, but they are quite a bit harder to find. for example, Jolee Bindo's Lightsaber would be considered a Light Side artifact but it would be hard to find due to the fact that it would likely have been lost after The Old Republic fell.
