Yeah five rookies wouldn't be autowin by any means and you can already get that level of firepower from other lists.
Maybe as a modification? 20 points with Integrated Astromech seems a bit much.

Plus, as X Wing Nut said, 5 Khytakxbzccxwiznxz is a REALLY good argument as to why the X would not be overcosted at 19.

In game design, like life, "simple" is generally better than "complex". I would much prefer a "simple fix like point reduction to a series of mods/upgrades that may have who-knows-what affect on the game in other ares and affect balance in some other, unforeseen way.
Besides...
The "perfect fix" for the T-65 would all depend on what you thought was wrong with it...
Do you think it needs fixing because it costs too much for what you get, or...
Do you think that it's in-game performance is not what it should be compared with other ships in the game?
Figure that out and address that in the simplest, most elegant way possible and don't over think it.
Do T 65 need a fix ??? YES.
Is the best way to lower point value ? I think not.
There are plenty of upgrade options to boost a T 65. My easy fix... Two points free upgrades ( ordnance, astromech, modifications ). Plus a 3 straight green.
X wing is like the F 15 or P 51, it shouldn't be the cheaper ship, it should be a "Space Superiority" craft

Care to elaborate please? Yes, X-wing has 3-2 instead of 4-1 for hulls/shield, but i think that kihraxz dial is better just because of those 1 turns and two different K-turns.
Is there anything else that im missing?

1 forward is TREMENDOUSLY powerful
3-hard is also important, you don't feel it until you start flying S&V where it's often nowhere to be found.
Shield-hull ratio
Integrated astromech is even better than 1 hull or 1 shield.
it's a SUPER efficient "look at the crit. discard it before resolving"
that keeps giving you an astromech bonus for the beginning of the game (and a greed turn is a boon for K-turn lover X-wing is.

I really liked MajorJuggler's solution, which was they should have just added text to the integrated astromech that will subtract 1 from the cost of the equipped droid down to 0. Hindsight being 20/20 and whatnot, they could still make a title that does the same thing.

Err... Nope!
The cheaper K, which is functionally and stat wise almost identical to he naked X, is a reflection of the poor costing of the X. The K and X are very balanced capability wise. Five nekkid rookie Xs is pretty much equivalent to 5 nekkid Ks. The K has a close in maneuver advantage (hard 1s) but doesnt have the Xs soow crawl 1 or 3 hards, yet it also has more jousting flexibility with 2 choices of K turn vs the Xs 1. Overall it is a slightly more flexible, if slower, jouster let down only by a hair less durability. The X is faster and slightly tougher but a more mediocre jouster. Astornech slot also offers less useful upgrades than the illicit. The K also has an EPT generic, which the X lacks. So bonus poknts dor the K there! The X should have baselined at 19.

Any of the ships that can take BB-8 and PTL can do this trick. Doesn't matter if they are 'better' doing something else, Wedge is one of the few Xs that really benefits because his ability is purely focused towards offense. Corran would be just as dangerous and for an extra 2 points gets to shoot again with a target lock. Wedge is a very expensive, PS9, one trick pony. Throwing engine upgrade as well as BB-8 and PTL on any T-65 widens the range of actions that it can take, but also massively increases the point cost. Wedge is already expensive for his ability, which is replicated by a 1 point EPT, an extra 9 points on a fragile target like a T-65 is just painting a bigger bullseye on him. Without IA he will be 2 points overcosted (more if you put EU as it's not worth 4) and more fragile.
BB-8 is a legitimate choice with most PTL aces but on the T-65 its limited by the very limited action economy on the ship. On the T-70 it's opens up more options, but again it's a one shot deal and the ace you throw BB-8 on is not going to regen or do anything else.
