Armada World Cup - Vassal Tournament:

By BiggsIRL, in Star Wars: Armada

THE TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER HATH SPOKEN. Obviously that's settled for the tournament.

But for the sake of academic discussion, I still don't think the FAQ adequately addresses this particular situation. Intel doesn't affect the ship's ability, but that says nothing about nearby squadrons. My main problem is if you apply "When a squadron attacks, it must attack an engaged squadron if possible rather than an enemy ship." after Heavy, then Heavy is negated in every situation. The wording for Heavy is perfectly clear. Instigator's unique ability just causes a unique problem. Normally, either you're engaged with a squadron with or without Heavy. Now we're got a situation where a ship is causing the engagement, but a Heavy squadron is the only squadron available to shoot, even though by the rule it can not stop you from shooting a ship. Great discussion, though. I'll probably package all this up and send a super email to FFG again.

I am sorry. I'm ignorant. What time is this US?

Depends on what part of the US, but it would be 2AM EST on the 2nd and 11PM PST on the 1st.

Well. Thats waaaaay too late for me.

Have fun storming the castle boys.

Good luck, guys! :D

Okay, here's my ruling for the subject:

...if a squadron is engaged by Instigator's two "squadrons" as well as at least one other squadron, they have to shoot that squadron per engagement rules.

And so it shall be, thanks.

I'll go berate your obvious mental ineptitude and how this ruling makes you an objectively terrible person in the other thread, but good to at least have an answer. ;)

Oooh, I might be able to watch!

Oh man, scheduling a game with one of these two is going to be interesting.

If I can schedule 5 games with Aussies / Kiwis in 4 tournaments, you can too!

Reath28 victory. 460-12. 458 MOV for a 10-0.

JRock had the bid and elected to be first player. He selected Contested Outpost.

Game ended at the bottom of T5. I managed to snipe a couple of squadrons early and was able to take out his ISD with support from my bombers and some big shots from my ISD2. After this point it was my ISD2 and Vic1 vs JRock's Vic2.

JRock was a great opponent and the game was really smooth with Skype being utilised.

A dishonourable mention to myself for managing to collide my own ships into each other.....not once......but twice.

I look forward to my next game this week and to playing JRock again in the future.

Its amazing how diverse these lists have managed to be, and yet how astonishingly similar the lists are in my match. Also, no Ackbar! Who saw that coming?

And wtf Soontir? 181st Is everywhere.

/raises hand

If anyone was going to pull it off, it was going to be Green Knight, but I'm not surprised Ackbar didn't make the cut. Ackbar's overated as hell. He's not bad, but I don't find him all that good for his price. He's very easy to use, making him great for new players, but once you know how to fight him, he's very predictable.
