*spoilers* Special Forces TIE/sf is surely coming to X-wing, but how?
Not sure about the price, but here it goes my last version:
It is supposedly a fast ship, so the title should have something to do with free boost action.
I'd fly this.
Thanks for posting that. I was just looking at the cross section hardcover myself. The other information from it was that the ship is heavier than the FO TIE (so most likely 2 agility) and better shielded (2 or 3). Just giving the ship the turret ability feels like the easiest thing to do. Specific titles and upgrades can easily cover other options like the warhead launcher.

You're quite welcome! I'm loving this book!
It's said to be SIGNIFICANTLY heavier than the TIE/fo, and sports a pair of reactors on either side of the cockpit ball to make up for it.
I agree though, probably more shields and one less agility.

Turret. Firing Missles. And/Or lasers. O.M.G. ![]()
"Thanks go out to Nera Dantels and the Ghost ... we appreciate your input and think we've come up with something better."
Edited by maxamHow would it have a 360 degree shooting arc? Wings are in the way?

I'd rather a cannon instead of the system upgrade. Still not so sure about 4 hull, the Xwing is 3hul, maybe it should have 2 shields instead.
So I propose 2 titles:
And maybe the title should allow boost for one type.
And another type allow the cannon to fire in rear arc....since the cannon is on the turret portion.
How would it have a 360 degree shooting arc? Wings are in the way?
It's pretty simple to tilt one way or the other to clear any shot that the wings might block.

I wouldn't it needs to be primary three.
I wouldn't it needs to be primary three.
Why?
I wouldn't it needs to be primary three.
Why?
Four guns is three firepower that rule holds true far more often than not.
Also we have more than enough fire power two ships .

Not exactly. I talked about this in my video below, but consider it shooting in a cone shape, which starts at the cockpit. It's not always going to have the wing facing it's enemy. It can simply rotate so the wings aren't in the way, since this is 3d space.
Overall this ship needs to have:
MORE firepower (missles, PWT and/or more attack dice, etc.)
BETTER sensors or targeting
MAYBE +1 Shield
The crew upgrade isn't a big deal to me anymore and since the "cog thingys" on the ship are supposed to be energy storage, I guess the Hull improvement is out the window... IMHO
Or the TIE Agressor.
No, the Aggressor has two lasers mounted in front and two in a turret. That's a fixed 2 standard attack + Turret slot.
The Sentinel has two lasers mounted in a front turret, and another two in a turret in the back. That's a 2 attack PWT + Turret slot. Just like the K-Wing.
I've been convinced that the dial won't be a nerfed FO, but I still think the guns will have 3 fwd and 2 in the aft aux arc.
I'm really thinking that it will have TIE Advanced x1 upgrades options and hull + shields. Though it might also have the tech slot so that it could use Comm Relay.
I'm also thinking that it's going to be one **** expensive ship. But I bet we'll see soon.
Poe Dameron doesn't shoot in the movies, relying completely in Finn's cannon. That could mean the chin tubes are in fact missile launchers, like in the TIE Defender.
Nah.
Poe says the gunner controls the Mag Pulses too. That means they're on the turret.
Where does it state that the gunner can only fire the turret?
Why the hell would a pilot have control over a turret.
Why the hell would a pilot have control over a turret.
Why wouldn't you? It's a spaceship. Things can be controlled remotely.
I used to do it all the time in Wing Commander games. Set up a torpedo run on a capital ship, then switch to controlling the turret to shoot down enemies coming up behind me.

The pilot of the TIE/sf explicitly DOES have control of the turret according to the cross section book.

Hm.
Good in an emergency I guess.
I think the Tie/sf will be the most popular of the ties.
Jesus, trim down that quote pyramid please.
So apparently I'm the only one who couldn't tell the special forces tie from a regular tie fo?
What's really interesting was the concept art that has shown up for earlier versions of it.
From this...

...to this...

...to what we finally got.
Apparently JJ had them keep reducing differences on it, as there was concern having too much difference would be confusing to the audience. (IE., name of the game on this movie - 'take the original, glam it up and dumb it down')
That decision came from higher up.
That decision came from higher up.
Do you have an evidence of that? Or do you think increasing the font size makes something more true?
Here is my guess
I think the rear auxiliary firing would be the best option because that is one hell of a depression firing on the sides to avoid the panels.
But I expect it to be a turret ship along with the ability to fire missiles 360.
Missile and Primary Turret.
Atk: 2
Def: 2
Hull: 4
Shield: 2
28 pts for generic PS 3
32 pts for generic PS 5 with EPT
Actions: Target Lock, Focus, Evade, Boost (originally thought Barrel Roll but then thought of the more powerful engines)
Dial: Same as TIE/FO if it gets boost.
Use of multiple titles and pilots to bump up ATK to a 3 or similar options.
Perhaps a Title that gives it ATK 3 (8 pts)
Key feature, first 360 missile.
No more attack two ties seriously we have more than enough, it's clearly got the guns to justify three attack forward.

How would tilting help? If you tilt the ship you're also tilting the turret. There isn't a lot of evidence to suggest it can shoot downwards.
