Been playing for a short time. The rule book was very helpful on combat with ranged weapons and physic powers. But one thing it lacked was how to use melee combat. If there is anyone out there who can help me with the rules on this. It would be very helpful. Thank you so much.
Melee combat rules
Use Weapon Skill charateristic instead of the Balistic Skill, use melee weapon profile inste ad of ranged weapon, use melee combat actions (look at the table on page 237 of Core Rulebook and subsequent descriptions ). Apply melee talents. It all works exactly the same way.
Edited by JargalWhich part of melee is unclear? It would be easier to help if you could point out the murky parts. In a nutshell, you need to be next to the vile xenos you want to sock in the eye, roll WS, see if the opponent makes his parry or dodge, and if not, apply damage, not forgetting to add the Strength bonus.
In general you get one pistol (using BS) or one knife strike (WS).
Swift attack and lightening attack let you make a second and third. (using up a second and third parry on the defenders part)
Two weapon wielder lets you make a bonus attack with the off hand weapon in addition to the above attack.

General gist is that it works the same way as ranged, just swapping BS for WS.
Step 1 - Be close enough to enemy to hit him (Usually around 5m ish)
Step 2 - Attacker rolls Weapon Skill to hit as normal applying all relevant modifiers to hit. Attacker may also make called shot to hit specific body part or use specific actions such as Swift Attack (Equivalent of Semi-Auto) or Lightning Attack (Full auto) to modify how many times they hit.
Step 3 - As per rules for shooting, use the roll to determine hit location reversing the hit dice to see what body part (or not depending on relevant talents) and resolve damage as normal based on however many hits from the previous step.
Step 4 - Apply defender resistances/field saves/dodge or parry tests etc
Step 5 - Do damage to filthy xenos scum
Repeat until either/both side is dead.

Good to see the spirit is not lost in all those technicalities
Thank you for all of your help. In the rule book they gave really good examples on ranged combat. Just wished they went into more depth about the melee side of it. Thanks again.
