"Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed..."
Is this "really" 4 players?
Scum is fine in x-wing. It's a small enough scale that a fight with a gangster makes sense. I really hope they don't appear in Armada, and this game's scale is even bigger! It's just...weird. It's like a WW2 game with the Axis vs. Allies vs. Al Capone.
If WWII is your model, I'd say you have a very skewed understanding of the Galactic Civil War. The Rebellion vs. The Empire is more like George Washington vs. The British Empire (or al Qaeda vs. The USA, if you want to be controversial
).
To the OP's question, I'm very curious what it's going to be like.
This games from the looks and sound of it has an uncanny amount of similarity with War of the Rings, which also claims to be a 2 to 4 player game but is definitively, unequivocally a 2 player game with absolutely nothing that could be designed into it without utterly destroying to make it otherwise.
Its just to make peace with the fact that this is a 2 player game.
That said War of the Rings may be one of the best 2 player games ever made for Lord of the Rings fans so to make a Star Wars version that is qualified the same I would find no reason to complain. An epic two player Star Wars war game... yes please!
Edited by BigKahunaYeah, I think 2 player games are fine and the GCW era is pretty well-suited for a 2-player game. Twilight Struggle is one of the best games ever made and doesn't even claim to be anything else.
