Finally a strategic game on the whole thing

Been waiting for someone to do this - and they even kept the name of the computer game too, which if it was inspiration is a very good thing (although it was supremacy in the UK)

I only hope it has enough re-playability!

and of course an Armada conversion system so we can play out the space battles!

Throw in some X-Wing for fighter battles, and Imperial Assault for ground assaults....that would be an epic day of gaming!

Totally surprised by this. I was under the impression Hasbro had the board game license, which is why Imperial Assault was marketed as a miniatures game when Descent is a board game. Maybe something changed? In any case, stupid excited for this.

I'm so excited to see more ... I just don't know what to say. Runewars is one of my favorite board games and this looks to be the same style of game but for Star Wars. It's a dream come true. I never thought it would happen.

At last. My love affair with the RPG was intense but short, I skipped IA because I already own a mountain of Descent, and I couldn't ever bring myself to dive into the money pit of the spaceship miniatures. I am exhilarated that I can finally throw money at a FFG Star Wars title with wild abandon.

Yeah, I'm excited that FFG seems to have worked out a deal with Hasbro. As a fan of the Rebellion pc game, I am all in on this game.

Well, well. I've been waiting a couple of years for this to happen ever since FFG began producing Star Wars products! Hooray! It looks like the classic SPI/John Butterfield game Freedom in the Galaxy brought up to date and streamlined, with, finally, the real Star Wars characters included. This is an instant buy for me.

There could be ways to tie this game into IA as well as Armada and X-Wing for those who want the ultimate in living out a Star Wars adventure.

Kinda. From what I've read around, they tend to indicate as Mon Calamari either the system or the race, while the planet itself is Mon Cala.

In any case, Mon Cala is correct (just answering to the OP who was complaining on a shorter name being used)

The preview images say Mon Cal, not Mon Cala, not Mon Calamari, and not Dac. Mon Cal.

Fear not, I spent a couple hundred bucks buying all of the Battlelore line last month. This means that Star Wars Battlelore will get announced after the movie next month. That's how it generally works between me and FFG
