Undead Monster Ability Missing ?

By Spyder, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hey All,

I know the FAQ is nigh, so this was probably already discussed there...

But did anyone notice that the Undead monster ability is missing from the rule book?

The Ghoul (for example) has the Undead ability printed on the Fight side of the card. When I look at the last page (back cover) of the rule book, the bottom left ends with Overwhelming X...

The Undead should be below that in alphabetical order, and was chopped off the page, probably by one of those dastardly word processors.

What does this ability actually do, in game terms, so I know how to use it?

Thanks again for this question, which I am sure has probably been answered a thousand times.

It's not an ability, it' s a monster type. It is affected by certain environments, cards, or weapons. It's also a useful tag for making custom components ;')

Cool.

So, to make sure I understand properly, unless a card, spell, item, etc says is does/doesn't affect Undead, then I can ignore it? It doesn't already have predefined properties (like immune to sleep type spells), that I need to concern myself with?

Thanks for the prompt reply!!

I'm pretty sure the Ghoul does not have the Undead ability, as it is not an undead monster.

The Servants of Glaaki don't have Undead either, but I think this was intentional. They are a special kind of undead.

It would certainly make Jim much more useful. And if he passes his personal story, Glaaki would be pretty much out of luck.

Yeah, and without undeads like zombies, man, the cross would only be good for horror checks..... oh poo !
