My question was more of a Curiosity and search for if it had been errated
and if there hadn't been one.. then I knew where I would go with it anyway :-)
Be well :-)

Then why argue? More then enough people pointed answers out to you but you got stubborn, Do what ya want. Your game, play it your way.
Oh to answer your question?
Why Take the talent?
To save credits and to save maneuvers
LOl who is stubborn.. Oh ye so eager to prove I am wrong in my choice lol
I just stated my own reasons for Seeing the talent still useful and your position not much of a point :-)
All I have to say is wow.
You do understand what a "choice" is right Osprey?
Not saying the rule is wrong.. saying I am making a different choice for "My" game, and that I disagree with you that it makes the talent less useful
Sorry that doesn't sit well with you friend :-)
Be well :-)
What I am trying to understand is why put it out there then ignore everything everyone says. That means you put it there just to ignore it, never said it wasn't your choice, I just said you broke the 2 careers in EotE that have that, I still say you did. Why not cut the price of reloads in half while you're at it?
Okay, You did Read the Op Right?
It wasn't asking for a rulling....
It was asking if there was an Errata.... and sating my confusion over the similarity in pistol and Reload...
AS I happen To Handle Guns often.
(that enc isn't the only thing I find as a silly Factor in the encumbrance rules of this system... Like a Back pack that can only help carry 4 additional Items.. Most Back packs can Help you carry A LOT more than 4 pistols... and a Human being.. even of Low strength can reasonably carry a Lot more than 5 pistols than in a back back and on his hips and so forth )
Even being slightly oddly shaped.. Most Magazines of Pistols are relatively small, I have carried one in my Jeans Pocket with out any problem or discomfort..
So when It was made clear that it wasn't a mistype ...nor Errated ..
I stated what I would do
I think for my own games, I shall have them notated separately.. Pistol Reloads will be 1/20 enc. While heavy weapons will be 1 ENC
That wasn't asking anyone opinion on the Choice... It was stating what I believe I will do..
it wasn't asking for a "ruling"
It was Stating my choice .
Both the OP I started with and My Decision were fairly clear.
It was then you and a few other who tried to tell me I was wrong and why...
I then explained WHY I disagreed
You didn't accept My answer and then repeated your reason for why I was wrong...(Like I am some child that isn't listening) :-)
And I explained again Why I disagreed with your premise .
So who again is Keeping this discussion circular?
Yes I did read the OP, no one said you were wrong we just pointed out misgivings. If you didn't want other people's opinions then why post it, are you trolling? I to have handled guns all of my life, both in the military and out of it. The firearms, especially blasters are bigger than our normal earthly firearms. Also, have you ever carried 210 rounds of 5.56 for an M-16, they would be about the size of mag to fit Han's blaster and weigh a ton along with my 9mm and 2 mags, all that weight adds up. I also bird hunt and duck hunt, I carry 100 rounds of shotgun shells in a bandoleer on a belt, they also weigh a ton. Again, think before you post or you will get others opinions or a discussion and then you will start insulting people like you have throughout this post, first by posting, then slamming the others opinions as if they didn't matter. Yes, that's how most everyone felt and that's why they stopped. So again why post it? Your game your rules.
Oh to answer your question?
Why Take the talent?
To save credits and to save maneuvers
Spare Clip opens you to having a Despair that would otherwise be spent on an out of ammo result becoming something worse. The guy with Extra Reloads spent 25 credits and a maneuver to get back into the fight, but you've got a broken weapon instead...
Edited by HappyDazeYah, it is kinda lame so I don't default to 'out of ammo', I randomize it. Spare Clip should probably be more like 'Ignore the malfunction' or something more generic.
Oh LOL Osprey.
I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to post my choice...
I never said people couldn't post their opinions.. nor Did I say I wouldn't defend my position/Choice.
you are the one that Implied I Asked for a ruling... When that clearly wasn't what I posted in either case..
I asked if there was a error or errata in the rules.. I got my answer... and I posted a decision I would make in my game..
You posted your reason for not liking the Decision.
I posted My reason for disagreeing with that reasoning.
are you trolling?
I could ask you the same question? I am not... you are the one that keeps Making arguments for why I am wrong in my choice.
As your re doing again
Am I Not supposed to be allowed to respond.. and By responding I am a Troll for Counter rebutting your Rebuttal?
#1, I am talking about Pistol/Light Ranged reloads, Not rifles/heavy ranged. But I have stated that before.
Not a Weapon the size of an M-16
Lets look at a few pictures of Han Solo carrying His blaster shall we?
From what I see, Most of those weapons Han is holding are about the size of a Modern Pistol or Revolver with a Sight put on them and a in some cases, looks like a few mods of perhaps a silencer and other added in.
they would be about the size of mag to fit Han's blaster and weigh a ton
Firstly.. I doubt you have ever "wieghed" Hans Blaster pistol let alone a "reload" for such a thing.. so it is what ever we say it is.
IMO... Futuristic Settings like star wards would be working with light weight materials.... So there is that..
Secondly as others have pointed out... It's not all about weight... But from what I see of "Anywhere" a Charge would be slotted in that pistol.... It wouldn't be any larger than a Standard Clip of today. And if you go with the Idea that it is a Item to Touch to or hook up to the Gun to recharge it then toss away... It still wouldn't be bigger than the Chamber the Gun would have to hold the Tibanna gas itself.
I also bird hunt and duck hunt, I carry 100 rounds of shotgun shells in a bandoleer on a belt, they also weigh a ton.
Good for you, as have I....
In fact I carry a Back pack with 200 Rounds of 270 Win in it when I Deer hunt.
Again, think before you post or you will get others opinions or a discussion .... then slamming the others opinions as if they didn't matter.
I again could say the same.
If your going to post your opinion, be ready for others to disagree. I had no problem with the discussion, Nor with the disagreement in opinion. You obviously do. You seem to believe that because some one disagrees with you, that they are slamming your opinion as if it doesn't matter.
If you wish to have Enjoyable discussions... you might want to leave that trait behind.
If I got insulting about it... It was only after you started blatantly disregarding MY right to disagree with you.
And I suppose you went around asking Everyone how they felt too?
The only ones who have continued this discussion thread have been yourself and another who felt it their duty to beat into me that I was wrong Lol...
I had tried to end the discussion several times By point out to you that THAT was My choice and My opinion..
But you couldn't accept that... That is fine... But Don't make me out to be a Troll because you got it under your collar that I had to be proven I was wrong about a Fictional universe and a Game.. thanks . expect no more response to your replies from me. Be well

And I would say that before making that decision I'd look at plot or the GM is just being a butthead
. Again, why take away from a hard earned talent, what you just invalidated careers that have said talent.

Whatever, 200 rounds of 270 win for deer hunting...LMAO. Bye

Not sure what you meant by a Broken weapon instead or what your reply was meant to address... I was Following you right up till the last part.
Yes , the Spare Clip talent allows them to Not have to spend Ammo on reloads and Not have to use a maneuver to reload their weapon when getting an out of Ammo result.
where did the broken weapon come from?
The GM manipulating the despair for a reload into a broken weapon instead, she's agreeing with you.
Broken weapon is another possible Despair result in a combat check.
Broken weapon is another possible Despair result in a combat check.
Yep
Broken weapon is another possible Despair result in a combat check.
Yep
I shouldn't have used manipulated in my above post.
The chart does say broken tool or melee weapon, but the section on Despairs also says there is no fixed absolute for their interpretation. That's why I think Spare Clip should be more open ended and less specific.
Whatever, 200 rounds of 270 win for deer hunting...LMAO. Bye
okay I'l break what i said this once... only because there doesn't appear to be an ignore feature to put you on.
Yes.. I do.. For Me and My boys.... cause I don't expect My young Boys to carry it.
Again wh is the one trolling and Making fun of people?
Edited by SnowDragonThe chart does say broken tool or melee weapon, but the section on Despairs also says there is no fixed absolute for their interpretation. That's why I think Spare Clip should be more open ended and less specific.
Same could happen with a carried reload.
Guess it's no different from me by myself having to carry what I carry for duck hunting. I do miss a lot, but 200 rounds? How many boys do you have? And no it's not a shot at their abilities, I am very happy to hear you take your boys out.

You lost me there.

If I don't have the talent, but have the reload, and roll the despair, I could still end up with a damaged weapon.
