To me, a Rogue Squadron expansion in one FFG game is almost a guarantee for an X-Wing expansion focused on Rogue Squadron. There's so much cross over between FFG's use of the Star Wars IP, from art to characters, that I think it's a shoe in.

Not necessarily. The announcement for Heroes of the Resistance is for Resistance forces which can be played with Rebels, but Resistance is it's own faction. By this reasoning, we are due something for Rebels, First Order, and S&V.

They are not their own faction, they are subfactions . Big difference. The game continues to work with Imperial, Rebel and S&V as the only factions that matter. There also is no indication that that should change anytime soon/at all.

I could see them doing more with this.

The Blue label (TFA Core etc.) could be used to market anything post TFA. (i.e. Rey's Trilogy, Star Wars Anthololgies, Canon Books and Comics) This would bring in all the newer generation as to what they are seeing on the screen and reading on paper or tablets. Once they are hooked they may come back a couple generations and buy into the old world stuff.

The Red Label (Old Core) could remain as a way to market to us as the older crowd and continue with the EU and "non-canon" stuff that we have grown up on.

Blue = Canon

Red = Legend

This way everyone is happy(er). We won't have to give up hope that we may see some ships from older video games, comics, books, etc. just because it is no longer the same timeline. The new comers get ships that they know without being overwhelmed with too much or having to wait so long between releases. In this way they could split the year by label and slow the production down to keep both groups not overwhelmed. (many have asked for a slower production so they can keep up). So this is to say that maybe an aces pack for Blue and Red a year, A wave for Red or Blue every three quarters. An Epic a Year. Or some other variable to keep both happy.

You can't just post pictures of ships in forums relating to them and expect that everyone is going to fact check - even if those facts are only a few pages back! and furthermore, the thread title says preview. And there is a picture of the Gunboat.

edit: Oh right, someone may have mentioned an upcoming Gunboat release before me in another thread located in another part of the website or even perhaps the internet at large. I certainly have never heard of any of this before and if you check back about one hundred and thirty two responses into a certain other thread you will certainly NOT see my glowing adoration for the ship in question. No, in fact I'm only just hearing about the Gunboat now, so therefore any previous rumour-mongering must be totally new to me. Therefore, actually I am the first to monger this rumour. And monger it I shall!

Wave Nine = Assault Gunboat. These two terms are synonymous now. It's going to have a white full stop and when it drops triple JM5K is going to look like Sailor Moon.
