Anyone else finding themselves getting sucked in to Rebellion after these previews?
I'm digging it, but I'll wait for a sale. I just got Star Wars Risk and the next new game on my list will be Survive: Escape from Atlantis!. Then probably Fury of Dracula... If the Carcassonne expansions ever come back in stock they're top of the queue. But after all of that and Wave 8 and Imperial Veterans, if there's a sale I'm totally picking this game up.
Rebellion: I love Twilight Imperium, Forbidden Stars (for a very good 1v1 3-4h "time constrained" experience that feels a bit similar, but more combat oriented). I will love Rebellion, I'm sure, but a local friend is buying it, to share the load.

Not saying it is a day 1 purchase but it sounds juicy. Star Wars: Risk is a fun light-weight game. Got Survive! for Christmas and it is just as fun as I remember from playing it 30 years ago.
Confidence dwindling. Could today be the day? Or will it be next week?

What good are 3D asteroids going to do you when ships have to be capable of overlapping them?

You'll still play the card board tokens and have the asteroids with stands placed on top of them. They look awesome.
They do get in the way a bit and if you over lap you have to pick up the asteroid; but the Falcon and Shuttle wings get in the way too. Besides we are playing a miniature game that could solely be played with cardboard. But we like to cool looking miniature.
As said, you need to lift ships occasionally anyways, esp. in furballs.
The above asteroids are my own. The pins can be removed from the base, so you can lift the asteroid from the base. No problems.
The base sizes are as the cardboard pieces from the core. However as I do not have a laser cutting tool they won't be tournament legal, as they deviate slightly by some millimeter.
So FFG official ones and more terrain would be nice. If they would be able to make money with it is another question.
Can I has Friday preview now, plz?
C'mon FFG! We're about to be snowed in here in DC and good X-Wing preview would give us some extra warmth to survive it.
