So, not sure if this has been brought up before or if this the correct forum.

I am playing a campaign where there are lots of people who wanna play. I have already allowed a 5th hero to join.

So far I have not taken anything extra for it and it has still been close missions, but I think I will start taking some extra threat now.

Now another player wants to join and I really want to allow them to play but unsure of how.

So the idea I had, possibly stolen from someone, that 1 player takes a hero card but joins the Imperial side.

He is a free deployment at the start of the game, no threat, he gains xp as the imperial player, when imperials get Inluence he gets credits, when he is wounded he no longer counts for stuff like holding rooms in "Under Siege". He would get to buy new equipment after the heros have had their choice, simply reshuffle and let him choose?

Do you think this could work? In our campaign he would get either Biv, Saska or Gideon.

I think a full on hero card would be way too powerful. There was a big thread with lots of ideas for incorporating more people:

If you want an Imperial aligned hero, perhaps give them Biv's Skirmish Deployment card? Edit: if you do this, you will not be needing extra threat.

I get extra players to join me as the imperials, they get their own squad to command.

extra hero players use the ally, if they brought one with them

that way i can have at least 7 friends playing. 2 imperials, and 5 heroes (1 playing as an ally)

balance is still in check

Extra player as Imperial hero?
