Ha! I missed that. What a stack of dicks.

Nice. Didn't see that coming. Mine are better anyway: no need for Skirmish cards, plus they don't have any of that distracting beautiful artwork
Edited by ibshAgreed!!! I like your's better than their's. Plus it is cheaper to get made.
I just hope the official maps don't prevent you from making Yours.
FFG should name their next hero ibsh as a way of thanking you for the effort you put in, not sure what race it would be.

@ibsh, I like yours better as well. I've printed out a couple that will fit on 11"x17" size paper (after some cropping). Someday I'm going to print them all up on some nice rollup vinyl. Any chance you'll ever make maps for campaign? It would be great to have them all available in a large architect binder, just flip to the right page and play.
Just wanted to chime in here and say thanks to ibsh for making such awesome maps.
Also, thank you to nickv2002 for your very handy python script to stitch the maps together for pixart banner printing. The script works great (even under linux).
You guys rock. My home gaming group will be very happy. No more jigsaw puzzles.
Thanks ibsh. I also updated my script that combines the files into PDFs to submit for printing. Might be worth linking to on the front page or from your site:Greedo's up now: if I thought the wording on Inquisitor was annoying, it's nothing to the layout of this one. It's even longer than the 4-player Hoth map, so it's basically an enormous waste of ink to print in a banner. Not a lot to be done; I laid it out to one side of the image so you can just cut off any excess. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears.
Actually looks like quite a fun map though, or at least unique.

Hmm, newbie to python and pillow here. I'm getting an error message: "Missing parentheses in call to print." (Windows 7.)
All I need to do is install Python, install Pillow, and then run your script, correct? Are there other thing(s) I need to do (for example, do I need to be in a specific folder to make it work)? If it would take a while to figure it out and/or explain it, is there somewhere I can look it up myself?
A helpful forum member here pointed out privately that Epic Loot in Ohio have been giving away my maps as prizes, and that someone is selling said prizes on eBay:
I guess this is flattery? Does anyone play at Epic Loot, and if so could you have a word? They're on pretty dodgy ground offering these at FFG events; I don't own the copyright on any of the images so, obviously, neither do they.
EDIT: for reference, I don't care about people using the maps for whatever; I'm glad people find them useful, which is why I offered them to the community in the first place. But I'd rather not have an overzealous game store owner or TO get me Cease-And-Desisted.
We had a few TOs/Stores in Australia print your maps (some on paper, some on poster card).
They were used for tournaments (Regionals in this case) and then the maps were sold off for a few bucks since the store didn't need them any more.
I think that works great. Helps the store out by bring in more people.
I would have bought some if I wasn't flying in from interstate and couldn't really transport them back easily.
but we're not talking $100+ on ebay here.
In any case, I prefer yours to the official FFG ones. Keep up the good work!

I don't have much experience using Python on Windows but the scripts are't particularly complicated so they should work anywhere. They are written for Python 2.7 and the error you're seeing sounds like it might be from Python 3.
Might be easier to just download the PDF products from me here .
There's groups of 6 for all the maps or just a set of 3 if you just want the tournament maps. Map print size info included.

Post a pic of how it turns out when you order. I haven't ordered mine yet (busy with other things).
@ibsh
I just wanted to post my appreciation of your work. I know its a one man show and must take up a lot of your free time.
I have been waiting for the new maps and a sale on pixart before pulling the trigger on all of them.
I hope you are able to continue your most excellent work in the future.
This is the thread for the unofficial maps. They're much cheaper.I think this will be the first thing of Imperial Assault i wont be getting to expesive in my mind

Oh haha thought it was about the new maps srry
I'm about to print these locally and I have couple of questions.
1) What ink do you recommend use to print it UV or Solvent? I heard Solvent it toxic and less durable and UV is usually
2) Does anyone have Combined PDF maps with Cropmarks to cut it at printing house?
3) Did anyone tried to round corners for these maps, I believe it will prevent bending especially after being in a tube for a while
I have sent a mix of 6 maps we like to play off to pixartprinting. £12.20 for a single banner with 6 maps on it.
I used the Python/PIL (2.7) script from nickv2002 to grab the maps I wanted. I did have to edit the script a little to suit my needs but it was a tremendous help. Thanks Nick.
Once again Ibsh, many many thanks.
@Baramon.
The rounded corners is a decent idea but most printers will charge a lot more for extra treatments like that. I am not familiar with cropmarks but again if you are asking the printer to cut the roll for you it may become rather expensive. Pixart's banner products are for outdoor use so i'd assume that there some UV protection in there.
I just paid £2.03 GBP for each map, printed and delivered in a big banner roll that I will take a pair of good scissors to for free.
For anyone who has printed out all or most of Ibsh's maps, could you take a photo of the stack? or roll(s)? I'd like to get an idea of the storage nightmare before I order.
I will post later tonight or tomorrow. Won't be near them till then.
storage depends on if you wish to store flat or in tubes both are available from arts and craft shops, the flat files take up less room than tubes, sorry I can't link pictures
double post sorry
Edited by wblackthornHere is mine and I use the tubes. Easier to transport to places plus not as large as a flat portfolio. The tube I have currently 11 of them and the rest in another tube. I got all the ones printed up to the Alliance smuggler. I need to get the rest printed. You should roll them with the print facing outward. That way when you unroll them the curl will be against the table. I learned that the hard way one time.
Thanks for the photo.
You're welcome!
