"Pre-assembled" skirmish maps

To Spain, it is very, very cheap

****. That is incredibly cheap even to the US. I will try them out. 100dpi is a slightly disappointing resolution but worth a shot.

Thanks.

Oh, no, no! You can upload images with more dpi. We have uploaded 300 dpi images without problems, even more! The 100 dpi is only a recommendation.

These are some examples:

Heh. If I'd thought about it at all, I'd probably have realised that. That's what you get for being too excited by prices. Ah well, too late now: ordered =)

You have 8 hours, or a day, I think, to upload the image again. So you are in time to change it, if you want. You can do it in "upload area", at the top of the page.

I got my maps from pixartprinting today (only took about 4 days, all the way from Italy to California) and they did a very good job; I join gran_orco in recommending them to anyone who wants to print the skirmish maps to PVC.

Your work is amazing, thanks a lot.

I did a nesting with all the maps to be printed in one pvc banner, just to be cut into small pieces. I will receive it in a few days, hope not to have any problem, since I got a lot of problems uploading the nesting file due to its size.

I have a suggestion, even when I've already printed wave 1 and 2 maps, and is to add "A" and "B" letter on mission titles in order to identify in a better way the missions.

Again, thanks a lot because of your work!

You have done the galaxy a great service.

I want to get this done but was wondering if you had the file you used. Did it have the new maps? I work at a school and can print these maps on paper. For personal use they would charge about $1.50-$2.00 per map so the banner seems much better for the price.

Yeah the banner would be better; paper won't hold up to a board game I think.

I don't have the file I used any more, sorry, but yeah, it had all the maps. It should be straightforward to put together with any image editor.

paper and laminate it.

It cost me £6 to order an A2 laminated poster with one of the map printed on it.

It looks great and is very sturdy.

That would get damned expensive if you wanted them all though.

That said, you probably don't need them all. There are definitely some worse maps in there.

I'm thinking of cheaper alternatives.

The local stationary shop has packs of A2 protective wallets, see through plastic pockets that are open on 2 sides. I could just get these printed on paper and slide them into the wallets when I use them.

i printed the maps and laminated them in A3 size pieces so just need to blue tac them togeather to play did them all.got to love the work printer and laminater

your maps are great

Has anybody done this for the campaign maps? I started playing and trying to find the tiles was a pain in the rear. I am planning on testing a place to print these soon for the skirmish. I hope someone out there can let me know if there are the campaign maps out there for for printing.

Thank you PedroK for that link. Sorry that I did not go though this thread to see it.

Ibsh, will you upload the new 4vs4 skirmish maps from return to hoth? It would be great for our upcoming tournament.

I wasn't planning on it, I must admit. Unlikely to come in handy for me. I'll see how much work it is once I've got the regular maps from this wave done.

You have done some great work! i plan to print out the regular competition maps soon

I wanted to share with you a very nice tutorial on how to remove the half tone moire patterns so you can get an excellent image quality from scanned work.

Printing these maps would be awesome, because they are bigger than any other. So it would be great if you could do it. If not, thank you anyway. Your effort deserves an award ;)

The maps for the new wave are up. I've also revisited all the previous maps:

  • My custom layouts are gone; since it seems that banner printing is the most common use case, I've gone for a single consistent height of 7134 pixels and let the widths fluctuate as necessary. So all the maps are now the originals from the skirmish sheets, with only cosmetic changes made. For example, there are a few places where FFG had to place a door one square away from the obvious doorway because of tile restrictions; I've fixed those.
  • The mission fluff is gone; FFG are obviously done writing it and it was taking too much effort to write it myself. Plus it leaves things less cluttered.
  • Gold text is now white; it should print better this way.

How do I send these for printing?

It was easy to get the old maps done, I just asked for A2 and told them the DPI.

Does anyone know of a good printing service in the UK/Europe?

Also, just for you gran_orco, the 4 player map is up. Not sure how printable it will be as it's an odd size.

https://www.pixartprinting.com for PVC banners. See PedroK's earlier posts.

There's no reason to reprint any you've already done; they haven't changed substantively.
