"Pre-assembled" skirmish maps

By ibsh, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Yeah, I could do unaltered versions of those few maps. Gimme a few days.

Thank you! :D

These have been done already over on BGG, even a few printing them onto Vinyl mats etc... They come up pretty sweet!

Link?

They are nice, but they are no comparison in quality to those that ibsh did.

I like the lack of joins in this version and the extra attention to detail with logos etc is really nicely done... Although I think I prefer to have the "complete" map without tiles missing.

Here is the BGG one...

Yeah, those are no threat to my Photoshopping pride, although somebody obviously has a very big scanner :P

The printing onto vinyl is really nice, that would definitely keep them scuff-free.

I will provide unaltered versions (of the few maps I changed, I won't bother to go back and re-type all the wording) on the web page as soon as I can, and will post a notice on this thread too.

Unedited layouts are up.

Thanks a lot. I was thinking of doing something similar, but you did much better than I could, and saved me a ton of time. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks!

Thanks. Now to the task of getting them printed. I may know a guy who knows a guy...

You're awesome... Thanks... Now to find a PVC print solution that is reasonable... I think it works out best to have them made in one long banner and then cut them...

I've found somewhere that approx 20ft/6meter banner would cost £34??? Seems to be a mistake (Too cheap)... I'll ask some questions I think...

****, please do. If they are offering that price I am in.

I've asked the question and will let you know...

I was thinking to have all of the maps combined into one image for the banner. Looking at your resolutions, I make that 6173mm by 630mm high should fit all 14 maps... (the most consistent size you have is 7134 pixels on an edge, with one at 7434pixesl @ 300dpi is 630mm (rounded up to nearest mm))...

If you're going with the FFG layouts, yeah, I had to make several wider but only one needed to be a space (one inch) taller; so your numbers sounds right.

I don't suppose you can easily stitch the pictures together? I appear to be making a mess....

Here's the company:

http://www.wherethetradebuys.co.uk/display/outdoor-banners/outdoor-banner-printing

It does appear to come out at £40 (£33+VAT) for one very long thin banner (which you would then need to cut), just select "trim to size" to stop them putting any kind of hems or eyelets...

Ah, go on then. Since you found a cheap supplier I will put together a single, terrifyingly large jpeg for you.

I'll order if you like and post how they come out... ;)

Hmmm. None of my image editing software can make an image that large. By quite a long way. I've built it into three images of equal height and similar width:

image 1

image 2

image 3

These are each about 50MB so you may just want to give the URLs to the printer rather than sending them yourself. And yeah, let me know how they turn out!

OK! That's great, maybe I'll put them into a DTP and then publish them as PDFs or the like, think that is how most print companies want the final artwork....

Thanks again....

(My -work- computer has crashed playing with these...)

Hi,

very nice!

Is it possible to make this without the Text? Or also with German text?

My German sucks =)

Very easy to just paint over the text in black. You could do it with MS Paint, probably.

I really love the quality of your work, but the text and the other stuf around the play area was a little bit to much (for me), so i took these wonderful maps and made some puristic. All on 22"x26".

The result looks like this:

Big thank you to Ibrahim!

Vollie

Cool, nice work =)

You're welcome. Glad people are finding these useful.

"Useful" is a little bit of an understatement ...

I'm interested to see the progress on this banner order!

Ibsh, would you consider doing a version of the images without the black background?
