Guess they're saving the faster characters for last. How ironic ;)

Fantastic. Two to a box sucks (the money out of my bank account), but... beautifully done. Bravo!

Wow those look nice, unlike some other games with pre-painted figs, that will add more feel to the game than just cardboard stuck in plastic. The only downside will be how much they cost.

I'll buy a set if only to encourage them to keep making them. I didn't catch the price though.

I was also thinking, that maybe I can find a way to work these figures into some sort of adventure rpg/boardgame using the Descent tiles and some Horrorclix. Hmmm......

I am very curious as to what the price is going to be for these, and I certainly hope that price is low considering there are only two per pack.

hm.. harvey looks a little crippled for my taste, especially w. the cane and all. I dunno, I'm not so impressed. But I rarely am with prepainted figs.

So, I'm not too excited about this whole thing at all now...

A little price comparison:
Base Game - $60
3 Board Expansions - $150
3 Card Expansions - $75
Total Cost - $285

24 Packs of the figs - $312

Economically it would have been much easier for those of us who would like to go all or nothing.

The suggested $45 price tag for a box of 8 would at least have been cheaper than their current pricing ($270) and I wouldn't feel like I was getting ripped off for paying more for the minis than I did for the game itself... Looks like I will continue to enjoy my cardboard standees for quite a while

So...this is what everyone who wanted figures has been asking for...and now that FFG actually does it...all I can see are complaints.

I didn't even want these...but they look fantastic. Thanks for pre-painting them, FFG! If I can afford a CoC Asylum Pack every month, I can afford these. (I just don't know how I'll store them.)

Heee...can't wait for Mandy! Or Dexter! Or Sister Mary! Or Monterey Jack!

Great. Now you all get to moan about Daisys mug in 3d...

I didnt want these either...not too happy with this, as buying them makes all those stands a pointless waste of space in the box. Plus, although pricing is ok (even if its just two lumps of moulded plastic with paint) the line will take two years (and longer if they actually bring out anything genuinely "next for Arkham".). This feels a bit like drug pushing, its stringing customers along as long as possible. And it looks far more likely there will be a pimped out superedition of AH at some stage...

I want to know - will Duke be detachable? How many more future investigators are they planning on that will bump up the cost ever higher once you start?

And the bottom line - Will I buy? Yes, probably, Im a sad sad completist.

Thats the internet have evolved recently, it's much easier to complain than encourage and support hard work...

However.. yes you might argue that the price is too high and so on and so forth.. but guess what.. FFG want to make a buck on these as well and are overall very helpful and true to their fans so I am guessing this is about as low they can go...

Also it's hard to compain when they keep making new stuff to the game and maintaining interest no matter how they do it.. it just prove that they have not forgotten about us. Also this buy them some time to come up with what to feed us next.

I have no idea if I will buy them all, I play the game a couple of times every year so I do not really need them and all that.. but then again.. I still want them..

Never wanted miniatures for AH, still feel Talisman is worse off since FFG went the miniature route. Definate pass for me these.

True. at least AH is still a cash cow. But they dont need time to figure out whats next, they work 2 years ahead and so they have those plans already...

Pretty.

Expensive.

I want.

Probably only getting Joe Diamond (my fav character), Michael McGlen (Firefly's fav), Darrel Simmons (cheeseking's fav) and 'Ashcan' Pete (Lost Prophet's fav). I'll probably wind up with the other paired miniatures, which is a shameful waste of money...

For that reason, chances of seeing me buy them is... 10%. Any higher and I would probably lose so much sanity they have to drag me kicking and screaming.

That is what I guess as well. A new expansion is not something you cook up in two months, I design computergames, I know exactly how long persion of time things need. But they keep the hype from Innsmouth for a longer period and I guess the experiment with miniatures with Talisman worked well since they are offering the same here.

Yeeeeah. *That's* not going to happen. Although if FFG is willing to *gift* them to me as a reward for having bought all their Arkham Horror *games* I certainly wouldn't turn them down ;') However, when it comes to paying over 200 dollars for decorations that don't actually add to the game functionality... Heh... No. I don't think so.

I feel the temptation, but I pass my will check.

I probably will buy these minis. Probably. Firstly, I'm impressed that FFG is actually making them. I didn't think it would be cost-effective but they appear to have found a way (even if they aren't dirt cheap like some people would like.) Secondly, and this is the big tipping point for me anyway, they can double as figures for 1920-ish era role playing games (Arkham Horror or otherwise), which I occasionally like to run. Hell, they could probably stand in well enough for modern day RPGs too. There are far too few sources of minis that don't fall into either medieval fantasy or sci fi scenarios, in my experience.

I am definitely on the fence about buying them. I have wanted to have something like this for a while, but the 2 per month is a little frustrating. It will take a long while before we get 4 we want to use all at the same time. The whole thing feels a little cheesy... a little like the old ads for the Civil War Chess Set from the Franklin Mint.

The price is a little high too.

That said, I still might buy them... but what I would really like is a little more incentive to buy the two packs. If each 2 pack included 2 alternate story cards for the 2 characters (4 storys total) I'd probably buy at least the first few sets to see how they played.

Other ideas:

Include a monster with each 2 pack. Throw in a free cultist with the first set, and go up from there. Maybe even make the monsters unpainted to save money.

Or... Throw in one of the new dice with each set ( or a dice and the story cards).

Or... throw in a few new items and some alternate starting equipment for the characters.

Or... throw in a new location card with each character (new for their starting location). Maybe even personalized location card (discard if you have a different investigator.)

You get the idea, just an tiny bit of extra game play would make these must haves for me.

I agree. Some sort of custom cards to go with the investigator would be nice. I will *eventually* get them all, but won't be in a huge hurry. Now, here's hoping future big box expansions go with the figures right from the get-go.

Would not want to see monster figures, however. That would make things unbelievably complicated.

Even throw in a custom scenario for each set of figures that make them prominent players in whatever happens. I expect, as with most 'suggested retail prices', retailers will sell for less or bundle, as the item suggests.

Conversely, after the release cycle has ran out, how about a lower priced box set of the entire collection? :)

If FFG made it as packs of ONE instead of two, I MAY buy it. Selling in packs of 2 just makes it higher than the price of one, and I say one because if I buy it, one of them will probably end up dusty with nobody to wants to use it.

No complaining here... I'll buy fo sure.... gran_risa.gif

I agree with most of the criticisms levelled here. They're too expensive, they'll be released over too long a period - who wants to wait two years to play their favourite investigator with a mini? - two figures is not enough per pack, and ultimately the figures add nothing to the game.

The only way to sell this project to the main AH audience is to include something extra in the packs that enhances the game. In fact, I think adding bonus game material would actually reduce the cost of the packs as it would increase sales of the figures. My preferred option would be new Personal Stories for the characters in the box. The PS was the most popular addition in Innsmouth Horror, and it very much fits the theme. Add four little cards and drop the price to $12 (or maybe $11), and I think these would sell as fast as they could be made. At $13 for an inessential, they'll sell less like hot cakes and more like burgers at Pickman's Fast Food Stand.

Much too expensive for decoration, in my view, especially as everything else in the game will remain 2D. Also, using miniatures with the usual markers will look strange, so people are likely to play only with whatever combination of figures they've happened to pick up. Meh.

I'll defintely be buying the first box, for they ARE two of my favorites. I'll probably be buying all of them if AH can hold my attention like it does now for another couple of years, but that is a long time. I've painted thousands of models over the years but none in the past 2 years so I'm glad to see that these are pre-painted.

I hope Wilson is on a motorcycle. I want to see how they mold him riding a motorcyle and reloading a shotgun. I suppose the Whiskey helps. Probably won't see him for almost a year or maybe more, though. It will take more plastic that way, but maybe they can package her with itty bitty Wendy even if they are from different expansions.

I showed the pictures to my wife, Jenny, a player, and asked how much she thought and she said $15, so I'm home free there.

It would be nice if they could add stories to the figures as suggested by so many.

I wouldn't mind if they accelerated their creation either.
