Does an attacking unit which moved into a forest suffer a damage if forced to retreat during a counter attack since it can't move out of the forest it moved into?

The attacking u it is free to be moved out of the forest. That unit entered the forest hex during the Movement step. The retreat due to counter happens as consequence of another effect. You may want to look at the Reference Guide, page 5, under Forest Hexes, second bullet point
