I gotta ask, what colros did you use for that black? It doesn't LOOK like straight-up black...

I assume you mean on Poe? That's German Grey with a Neutral Grey edge highlight and Black wash.

I don't like to pick holes in peoples work so understand this isn't meant in a mean way.
Thin your paints a bit and edging that thick needs pushing back.
It's not a bad repaint by any stretch. This is just advice for your buddies next repaint.
I feel really bad now.
Macross, man, when I'm finally steadily employed- I have GOT to commission you.
Work in progress and fishing for ideas.
I can't stand shuttle models. The wings make gameplay a clumsy ordeal.so, I want mine to play with the wings folded up all the time. No big deal.
So, when I folded them up I got the idea to paint it like a sailing ship. Wooden ship and the wings are the sails.
I got started doing the wood grain and canvas parts, and I'm experimenting with making the guns look like old times black powder canons.
I'm looking for any fresh ideas to add to the surreal sailing ship design.
So far...I'm thinking of making the cockpit glass have all the wire work like those stained glass windows where the captains quarters are. But its in front..so I don't know.
Maybe I'll skip engine glow and do the stained glass look in back.
Yeah...probably that.
Well I don't know, I'm open to suggestions.
Yeah Spaceman it was def a quick job on my part. Paints were prob a bit on the thicker side for sitting a while since I last used em and I need to pick up some new brushes for sure. and no worries on criticism Im always open to input to make the next attempts better. Thank you!
I still don't know what the conversion is
LOVE the "pixel" detail on the panels. Definitely something I'd like to explore when I try to come up with an Interceptor repaint idea.
Bump

I can't figure it out either.
Also, these are amazing and are making me slightly terrified to actually post the squint I'm currently working on, because it's never going to measure up >.<
It's very subtle, but once you notice it's actually rather cool.
Look at the Punisher's wings...
Love the yellow markings on the wings of those Imps Macross. And I had to look twice at your Punisher once I saw people commenting on the conversion. Nice and subtle, and a vast improvement.

Just the little chunks out of the front? Yeah, barely noticeable but definitely an improvement.
You know what I want to see? A First Order Raider. Has anyone done that and taken pictures?
Just figured the conversion out!
Simple and VERY Cool.

Ooh I like the idea. It's odd but I like it.
For the stained glass effect I would suggest finding some car repair mesh or netting and using it to mask off diamonds on the screen. I bet it'll look great!
@ Dinobaldi... Nicely done! You have the chops brother. Good stuff!
You could always leave them red for royal guard models!
I like the repaints though.
My IG-2000 repaint.
I only lined in the prototype A-Wing because, I've got a stock one coming in the mail, which will receive the Skyshark Squadron paint job. Sorry that the last photo is a little out of focus.
Recently got into doing repaints and after doing a Kath Firespray I decided to do a Khiraxz based on the Turbokat from the cartoon Swat Katz.
Swat Katz intro for reference.
