Number of cards in deck?

By player673924, in Call of Cthulhu Deck Construction

Hi, Just out of interest what's the optimal amount of cards to put into a deck?

After the initial few games, I have a grasp on how cards are best used. But how many cards is best for a deck?

The deck I have just built has 80 cards made up for about 30 Hastur/30 Yog/20 Neutral. Should I be trying to whittle this down to about the 50/60 card mark?

Thanks.

Andy.

If you want to build a competitive deck you should aim for 50 cards.

Undoubtedly.... 50 cards optimum! gui%C3%B1o.gif

Ok, Thanks.

I thought that it would come to be about 50 cards. After a bit of whittling I have managed to do just that. :)

Thanks again.

Glad I found this, as this was the one question not answered in the manual.

Most of the ccg/lcgs I've played, competitive (which then drips down to casual play as well) is get your deck just the minimum legal deck size. That's the buffed, ripped, on-steroids deck, trimmed of all excess fat and what not gran_risa.gif .

yep its done so you can put the maximum amount allowed of the cards of your choice in and stand the highest chance of getting them in play quick, sometimes mulligan to get a better starting hand :)
