Quill & Tankard Article That Discusses Setup

By Bomb, in General Discussion

I like that duplicates are unstoppable this time. It improves the playability of dupes, which in turn encourages you to play multiples of your main people, which as the article states was not the case in 1E. AGoT is at its best when highly lethal (from a flavor as well as a gameplay standpoint), but the first edition had so much of this that it discouraged using expensive characters (i.e. pretty much all POV characters from the books) altogether, which ultimately resulted in a flavor miss where you wouldn't expect it.

I expected the attachment changes to be the most exciting part of this, but those changes to dupes and setup are really solid. I'm glad that we'll have so much setup "gold" to work with, and I'm glad that they are making uniques more resilient this time around.

don't get too comfortable...there's no reason "cannot be saved" couldn't come back
