I havn't seen anything from sciv, I just know (as in educated guess) that something will be coming out to help balance against all the throw abuse.

You also said the art was very good in another thread. Also many people have talked about this PDF. if everyone wants to try tokeep it a secret then whatever =/

Hata had some sciv 02 with him at gencon, judging from what people have told me the art will be alot better than Tekken. Which seems a bit wierd because they are owned by the same company. I'd think they would want consistant art among products they own, but its probably a complex process.

Well I guess you must just be a very wishful person that says things are going to happen even though he actually has no clue =/

None the less I know people that have flat out told me that this PDF exists and that they have it and I have no reason to doubt them

But, it's very frustrating to sit back, watch all my four point cards, some of which I had only had for a few weeks, get rotated for no reason (in my opinion, you can have your own Antigoth) in the middle of the year. So okay. I lost out big then. So I start playing tiny STD format, and it's pretty good. Most symbols are playable. So it's kind of fun. The Tekken VI come out and the meta is reduced to the stupidity of Cutting Edge era. (te difference being instead of playing control, you now play fire throws.) But I said to myself. Fine, Steve said we'd have SCIV in October. With this state of the game, I now have to wait until December until we can stop playing the Universal Fire System.

Because unlike some play groups, we want to play something else than fire aggro in a stale enviorment.

Um, it wasn't for no reason. Unlike you, I've been playing basically since day 1, and I can tell you that the rotation occured for a VERY good reason.

If your playgroup is so blind to see that this game has more than just a Flame, they're stupid.

Death and Earth are HUGE! Ever tried Death Zhao Daiyu to completely screw over their staging area? Earth King?
Life completely protects the staging area from Stun and Paul Phoenix (whom doesn't use Throws, I might add), and if you're using somebody such as Lu Chen, there's a completely non-aggro character right there.

Also, if your play group wants to play something different than Fire...do so? Back when we had a playerbase, we would purposefully build different decks each tourney to keep things feeling fresh. If I were to build a competative deck right now, I'm actually looking into Evil, as well as my dual symbol All-Life Christie Monteiro.

There is a PDF...but you can't see it. Only scouts I believe can, but I'm not one, so I don't really know. A PDF Is released with every set, so I'd say become a scout, as the PDF isn't meant to be shared through the grapevine.

if it isnt complaining about one symbol its another....less QQ more pew pew

You know, if I missed EVERY deadline at my job, I would be out on the street. Note to self: Win 2 world championships, get a job at FFG, slack off, and make money while doing it. I thought the product was at the warehouse, ready to go.

The sets are already printed, this is well-known. It's also well-known that if the set had released in October, it would've been too soon since the last release.

It's also well-known that Hata's work in UFS is possibly the best design there has ever been and the sets he has designed have been the most balanced.

What I want to get through your thick skull is that Hata's job in FFG does not only include UFS. I personally talked to him recently and he's neck-deep in work. Non-UFS related work. He does not deserve ignorant, pointless, smartass comments like yours.

Preach on brother Al!

I am the scout for my store. If such a wonderious thing exists I have never heard of it being for only us... There is no scout forums anymore so I don't even know how something like that would be set up...If your scout wants to send me his copy or LMK how to find mine then plz LMK lol

Also for once shinji is correct(jk he is right SOMETIMES) Fire while probably the strongest symbol can still be beat. my Heiachi deck just totally raped this past weekend off of chaos was tossing out 8-9 damage very first turn with no foundations XD

Some people need to get off their "fire is too good" mentality and just build some decks.

Oh no, an aggressive symbol is winning early game! Why does that sound like I'm repeating myself?

As funny as this all is, Gary and Paul need to stop lying to us (which they did, saying origionally it SCIV was going to be out in October at Gen Con, then pushing it back AGAIN) and actually grow a set. I like to thin human beings are somewhat reasonable people (even UFS players) and if they give us a good reason, we'd accept the fact that they're not wanting to put stuff out till December. I frankly don't care, gives me a chance to save up some money to actually BUY some of the set. But instead it's the saqme crap:

"Oh yeah everything's good, we'll have the next set with non fire support out in October so we don't have three sets in our hastily done rotation."

Well gosh golly gee guys ya fooled us again! Shame on us for actually believing you!

Oh yeah and I forgot!

I TOLD YA SO!

I do so love when I'm right :D

Sol, I love you buddy, but you can eat my D! >:|

Of course Chaos Heihachi eats skulls. "Hi, I'm Heihachi. I toss 10 damage Spinning Demons, potentially killing any character in the game turn 1!"

Even Order, as dead as it is, has Cursed Blood, Bloodline Rebellion, and Patriot Games.

So much fun **** to play with right now.

B-Rad

Quit getting cocky and ostentatious: that job belongs to me and Kanye.

They did give us a valid reason for pushing the sets back. I'm pissed, because I'm Shinji, and that's my motif: I get angry so I have a feasible excuse to yell and piss off my fellow forumers.

But you're not me, and as the great poet Sir. Soulja Boy Tell 'em once said, "Nope, can't be doin it like me. Nope, so don't be tryin to do it like me."

The reason was so this game could GET BACK ON TRACK, something it has not been in never. Also, I JUST got my apartment, and I, being the retarded good sumeritan I am, gave a random woman 150 dollars. I have all of her info, but something tells me I still won't see that money. Never the less, I have literally never bought anything with a 5-star, so this push back sorta kinda is cool.

Double posts FTL >.>

Where is all this info coming from?

Judging by that random card someone was selling on the obvious auction site, I would assume this to be true.

Where is all this info coming from?

Well someone had posted a card Hata was using...can't recall everything but I think it was:

3/5 dont remeber if they said it had a block

E Commit: something along the lines of you get to see your oppoents hand and change your attack zone.

So yeah fire will have ways to push through its attacks(Astrid D:) as will All and Life.

All and Life could use it.

All and Life could also use to stop appearing on the same cards =/

I'm not so much troubled by the fact that SC is coming out in December as much as the fact that FFG cannot keep a commitment. Now before any FFG fanboyz interject with "they're only human" or "they are trying they're best," lets chillax and ponder for a momment. They have a set with an unannounced release date and after some calculations they come up with October as a release. One of two things could happen from this point onward. They could account for the fact that at least the last couple sets were delayed considerably due to (insert FFG woes here, im sure they are busy running a card game can be daunting) and a patern might be forming where they would need a more loose schedual - one thats possibly updated online in the form of a progress bar? The second choice would be to trumpet blast the October release date from the halls and mountain tops of every land in a firm and resolute voice.......and then make a retraction one month later.

FFG is like a Latina: you want to put your trust in it, but both of you know, deep down, all you want is sex assuming you keep putting your money into it.

I'm not saying fire is unbeatable, there are many symbols with good characters. I'm just saying it's like post-set 8 evil. Which means "here's a deck full of auto-includes where your toughest deck building decision is which amazing character do you start, and the hardest playmaking decision you'll have to make is siding into Bryan Fury against King/Hilde/Earth deck go."

no symbol right now can be as easily consistent as fire with as little work. I built an Ivy deck that could beat fire, but for all the effort I had to put into that deck, I had trouble beating fire decks who could just drop 15 damage throws on my face, and then DR all my attacks if I go off, or block and reversal with pommel smash and end my turn or force me to block it so I don't die. As for "spoilers" what I overheard was simply that the main problem with the meta right now is that SCIV and Tekken 6 were originally meant to be released together, and any problems brought along by one set, the other was supposed to fix.

I've hit a point of lethargy with this game. FFG will not release a set on time, and quite frankly, if you're okay with that, good for you. For every person whose like "yay FFG, this game's design has never been better (which is true) and I can't wait to play enjoy every set, no matter how long the wait is!" there is another person who is going "well **** this." You can't make everyone happy, but stopping with product delays would certainly be a start. That's my piece, and for me at least, my mini-revival of enjoyment in this game lasted about as long as Noble Scion of an Odious Bloodline did.

Pushing the set back to get the whole thing on track for next year was the best move, a lot of players who havent touched this game in a year or more are starting to come back now, and to push them even further in the hole by rushing sets out before anyone has a chance to get caught up would be stupid. I have several players who are coming back right now and really enjoying the game, my playgroup is seeing a resurgance like it hasnt seen in years and those of us who dont live off of our parents income in this sh*tty economy cant afford to blow a huge amount on getting caught up to current meta and then have another set come out that we have to blow even more money on. So to recap...good call on pushing it back, it gets the sets on track to be released in a timely manner, it keeps the card pool at a medium level, i would rather have a 300 card pool with 80% usable cards than a rushed 400 card pool with 50% usable cards, and it allows us a chance to get caught up and the player scoming back to get a chance to get a cardpool together before being blasted with another set....iam a huge SC fan, its my fav license and the reason i started playing this game...i cant wait for the set to come out, but i still think its a smart move

FFGSteve said:

As I’ve stated the sets will get bigger with set 15 to help balance out having less sets release in a year while still making sure it is not to much product a year. We want to make sure we find the best possible balance. Which will mean reviewing the release schedule over the next several months (listening to players, retailers, and distributors along with reviewing several factors, etc.) to see if it might be better to maybe release six sets a year (basically every other month) or maybe five sets year (one every ten weeks). As I said we will be looking at this very hard over the next several months.

On this note I really hope that we do get 6 sets a year I know that every 2 months seems kind of fast but that is still only 6 sets whereas before we have 8 a year so it's still less cards to buy overall. Also there just Happens to be 6 licenses atm(Soul Cal, Tekken, SF, DS, KOF, Sam Sho, and Shadowar) so we could get one for each license to appease everyone.

Once again, the rotation happened for a reason, and if you read the SOTG (and I trust you did), you'd know that reason.

Dude, you know me. Any time I don't get my way (which is every state of the game not named July 2009 ;D), I jump on any nearby couch and proclaim my hatred of FFG like a giant infant.

But even I understand WHY they're doing it, and think of it like this: yes, they could release SCIV in two weeks like I want...

...but then we have Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, and likely most of March until a new set. Is that what you want? IS THAT THE WINTER OF YOUR DISCONTENT?

So it's like...even if I had a dickton of money and bought every 5-star thing to date, Tekken is still fresh (COME ON **** IT, WHERE ARE MY CHRISTIE PLAYERS?! >:|), and once again, where are people's creative bones? Where are the Chaos Cervantes, Evil Bryan Fury, Death Zhao Daiyu, Void Rashotep, All John Herr, Good Lu Chen...

You get the point.

Also, and I'm sure you know better than this, but keep in mind, this rotation wasn't foreseen, and all this Fire support was released when Fire was balls tier.

You guys need to chillax and enjoy the best card game ever made now that it's on the best pathway it's ever been on. We have a creative friggin genius at the helm, so would you guys be a little more grateful? ****

I DON'T EVEN HAVE A PLAYERBASE IN MY OWN FING CITY!

and I still love this game :)

Thanks for the nod Steve :D

But yeah, I would have quite liked it if Soul Calibur IV were released in October, but thats only because I love Xianghua, and having seen the support of hers from Worlds in Hata's deck, I want her and want her bad :D But in all seriousness, I can understand why they would have put it back. I do hope, however that they up the number of set releases in a year, to at least 5, as it would be nice to have more cards to look forward to in a year. 6 seems a little too much of a workload for the FFG guys if you ask me :P

With regards to Fire, I disagree that it's too strong. It may have the largest number of cards available to it, but plenty of other resources have just as any strengths as Fire does. Earth has access to Throws that Fire doesn't (through King) and has a much better defence (through Siegfried and Rashotep). Death has access to speed boosts and some arguably better attacks than Fire has (Kazuya, Tira and again, Rashotep) and Cursed Blood, but we all know how much I love that card :D . Chaos' attack lineup can be downright dirty with the higher level of momentum generation than any other symbol. (Maniacal Laughter, Ascending Zephyr, Solitary Assassin, Treacherous Offspring, Mishima Zaibatsu Leader etc). Life might as well be anti-Fire, as most Fire attack lineups have some level of commital in them, through Stun, Paul, and Pommel Smash. It can also make it's attacks so much faster than any other symbol without stress. The list can go on and on, although one thing I will say about Fire, is that it's the easiest symbol to build, which is by no means a bad thing. Fire has access to a lot of options, but that is not to say it will win every tournament going, because it really really won't. Personally, I would prefer to play Hilde off Good, Jin off Chaos, Nightmare off Death etc etc etc. So yeah, Fire isn't too strong, it's just by far the best symbol for anyone who's starting up the game. To compare it to Set 8 is a bit off, really. Block 4 Fire is nothing compared to say, Block 1 Void or Block 2 Evil.

your talking to someone who built death/fire promo Rikuo for worlds. my creative bones are tired when I play against players who don't even build their own decks and have to deal with same bull game after game after game. Or me trying to build my favorite character (Heihachi, old man powers activate) off of my favorite symbol (Earth) and then realizing that no matter what cards I put in the deck, he's just plain better off of fire. Right now, Void Cervantes is going to get on his boat and take a shot next local tourney, but afterwords since I can't really afford the tournaments, I need to win (or at least top 4) every tournament so I can pay for it with the store credit I win, and fire has the best chance of that. As for knowing why they are rotating, yes, I know why they are rotating, I also know that no amount of complaining on my part will A) change it or B) make them not delay the next set after SCIV, which will probably happen.
