I thought I'd try to test the maximal storage capacity of Sir Willibald's cardboard boxes + the Core box. As it turns out, you can carry quite a lot!

(TL;DR: 2-3 VSD's, 5-7 Neb/Corvettes, and up to 45 squadrons. Or any combination thereof..)

The first layer: 2 VSD's, 2 CR-90's, 3 Neb-B's (all with associated gearboxes), various upgrade/damage/ship/squadron card boxes (a full set!), and my token tray.

Next, the fighters! I squeezed in 30 squadron boxes.

Now, if you took out the token tray, you could definitely squeeze in another 15 squadrons. And if you take out the various upgrade card holders, you'll have enough room for another medium sized ship. You've got lots and lots of options...

I've gotten the following into my core box:

* 3xVSD, 3xCR90, 3xNeb-B

* gear boxes for all of those plus 2xAFmkII, 1xGSD

* 2xCore Set carrier boxes + 20 squadrons

* Ship cards

* Damage cards

Plus a little more room. I don't think that I'll be able to get my 2xIFS Carrier boxes (+8 squadrons each), 2xRFS Carrier boxes (+8 squadrons each) in there, or any of my AFmkIIs or GSDs when the microhangars for those come out. I'm using two shoe boxes for my overflow right now.

I posted it before. But WITH the dividers I was able to fit in two core sets, without half the fighter squadrons. and that includes all the tokens.

I need to find a good tray that can fit the measuring tools, and some of the tokens

Sweet! I am set with 2 core boxes and the ships I have then, even taking into account the possible variation in the Assault Frigate and Gladiator Class hangars.
